We are looking for a Engineering Manager to focus on our DrChrono EMR application within EverHealth on the Clinical and Regulatory product engineering team. The DrChrono by EverHealth platform serves as the center of our integrated ecosystem for independent healthcare practices. Our goal is to deliver enhanced user experiences and cutting-edge features to continue simplifying the business of healthcare for our valued customers. This is an up-leveling of a key engineering leadership role over our Practice & Patient Engagement Team.  A strong technical leader with demonstrated experience in Healthcare Technology and in particular with an EHR/EMR is required in this role.

You:

You are deeply experienced in both managing other engineers and building software with an Agile mindset. You care deeply about diversity, growth, and enabling success in others. You will champion solutions, and the team building it, from inception to deployment, and everything in between. The solutions you and your teams build must not only work for DrChrono today, but also support rapid iteration and innovation as we grow in the age of AI. Your work is going to be nothing less than redefining the health IT industry, and your tool belt is full of tools that assist with software delivery, team growth and development, and more.

Responsibilities

Leadership You have the ability to guide a team by example. As a leader on our development team, you instill the values of kindness, diversity, quality, ownership, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement in those around you. You mentor and develop team members through coaching, feedback, hiring, training, and performance management while fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.

Teamwork Many of the problems we encounter require insight from many parts of the business. Your ability to coordinate, communicate, and collaborate with product management, design, and other stakeholders is essential to our success. You facilitate communication across engineering teams and departments to ensure alignment, successful product delivery, and achievement of business objectives.

Architecture You have a strong understanding of the building blocks of a robust, scalable, secure, and compliant system. You are able to dissect business problems into well-designed solutions and define technical strategies and roadmaps that align with company objectives. You have the experience to know what to build, the discipline to know what not to, and the ability to drive resolution of complex technical challenges while continuously improving engineering processes.

CS Fundamentals You have a strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and data storage technologies. You are able to select the right tool for the right job and ensure adherence to engineering best practices in coding, testing, deployment, software quality, security, and regulatory compliance.

Delivery Focused Code on a laptop doesn’t solve problems. You know that a project is only complete once it has been delivered and validated. You oversee the design, development, delivery, and successful release of high-quality software solutions while maintaining a relentless focus on execution, quality, measurable outcomes, and team performance through appropriate KPIs and metrics.

Passion Hard problems are not solved overnight. It takes a special kind of attitude and hunger to disrupt an entrenched industry. Your passion is what you share with every teammate. Passion for technology, passion for teamwork, passion for change, and passion for building products that transform industries. You lead with resilience and adaptability, navigating uncertainty and ambiguity while staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
