EverCommerce is searching for an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to lead the architecture, deployment, and continuous operation of our cloud infrastructure. You’ll be the go-to expert driving innovative, secure, and optimized solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead cloud-native deployments using best practices in automation and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Deploy and manage AWS Organizations services across the enterprise.
  • Implement disaster recovery, high availability, and security strategies across cloud services.
  • Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams such as engineering, security and DevOps to define cloud architecture and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Document architecture, processes, and runbooks; continuously refine processes for efficiency and resilience.
  • Implement and manage cloud cost optimization strategies, applying FinOps principles to monitor usage, reduce waste, and improve return on cloud investments.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and industry regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex systems and cloud service issues.
  • Develop automation for deployment, monitoring, alerting, and cost optimization using scripting or AI/ML tools.
  • Deploy and configure Teleport privileged access management solutions to secure access to critical infrastructure.
  • Oversee the management of domains and public DNS, ensuring secure, accurate, and highly available name resolution services.
  • Perform systems engineering and other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience needed for success in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field, or a combination of certifications and experience that equate to a degree.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and managing large-scale cloud infrastructure; deep experience with AWS.
  • Proficiency in cloud-native patterns (serverless, containers, microservices), IaC, automation scripting, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong networking, security, and disaster recovery knowledge.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills; ability to mentor and guide technical peers.
  • Experience managing highly available, high-throughput production environments.
  • Experience in enterprise level monitoring, maintenance, and administration.
  • Experience with security tooling including governance, WAF and zero trust.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond rapidly to changing conditions while minimizing operational impact.
  • Proven capacity for quickly acquiring and applying new knowledge and skills.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving organizational environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with sound judgment in situations lacking established protocols.
  • Systems engineering experience and capabilities with enterprise tools

Nice to haves: 

  • High level knowledge of database platforms.
  • Experience managing multiple discrete environments simultaneously.
  • Experience leveraging AI/ML tools and frameworks to automate cloud operations, optimize workflows, and enhance system efficiency. 
  • Experience with managing and governing hybrid cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with the implementation and configuration of Teleport privileged access management solutions.

Where:
The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada – if you’re close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely. Please note that you must be eligible to work without sponsorship to qualify for this position, and this role may require travel to our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or to other office locations around North America.

Compensation: The target base compensation for this position is $140,000 to $170,000 USD per year in most US locations. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including location, local market variances, and candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
