About us

Sparrow is the first high-tech, high-touch employee leave management solution. Our mission is to make it simple for companies to provide their employees with all kinds of leave (i.e. family, medical, etc.).

Currently, the leave management process is painful and inefficient for everyone. Company leaders struggle to keep up with regulations and processes that change frequently, and the employees going on leave are overwhelmed by bureaucracy at an exceptionally important juncture in their career. Sparrow transforms this ordinarily tedious, error-prone, complex to remain compliant, and time-consuming process into a 30-minute end-to-end experience saving teams time (20 - 40 hours per leave) and money (up to $30K per leave).

Sparrow is headquartered in San Francisco but all employees work remotely across the country. Sparrow is a diverse, highly talented, and supportive team. Together, we are hardworking, collaborative, smart, and humble—after all, we’re solving real problems.

About the role

As an Events Marketing Associate I, you will support the planning and execution of Sparrow’s marketing events, helping bring our brand to life through meaningful in-person and virtual experiences. You will collaborate closely with the marketing, sales and partnerships teams to plan and execute events that strengthen relationships, generate pipeline, and elevate our presence in the HR space. This position reports to our Senior Field Marketing Manager.

What you will do
  • Support planning and execution of Sparrow’s hosted and sponsored B2B marketing events, including webinars, executive dinners, tradeshows, and conferences.

  • Manage event logistics from start to finish, including venue and vendor coordination, asset and swag management, shipping, on-site execution, and post-event wrap-up.

  • Coordinate cross-functional and external partners to align timelines, creative deliverables, and campaign execution.

  • Assist with pre- and post-event marketing efforts, including promotional campaigns, social media, email communications, and lead follow-up to drive engagement and sales enablement.

  • Track event budgets, timelines, and documentation; maintain organized records including contracts, materials, and post-event reports.

  • Partner with Marketing Operations to monitor performance, manage attendee data, and report on goals using tools such as Salesforce.

  • Research and evaluate new event opportunities to inform future planning and continuously improve event strategy and ROI.

About you
  • BA/BS degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.

  • 1-3 years in events or field marketing, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting event marketing programs including vendor coordination, asset and swag management, campaign support, and on-site event execution.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented, with strong project management and communication skills.

  • Skilled in collaborating across teams, managing multiple priorities, and adapting to changing timelines.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Hubspot, and other common marketing tools in a B2B marketing tech stack.

Compensation

This is a full-time salaried position with compensation of $60,000 to $80,000 depending on experience and location.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
