Job Description:

Are you a results-driven leader who thrives under pressure and delivers measurable outcomes? This is not a role for someone looking to "figure it out" we need a proven performer who can take our events department to the next level.

We're seeking an Events Manager to own our brand's presence at local home shows, exhibitions, festivals, fairs, and community gatherings throughout Southern California. In this high-accountability role, you will drive the metrics that matter: appointments per hour and demos per hour. You will actively manage events on-site, lead a team of Event Promoters, engage with the public, and generate qualified leads for our in-home sales team.

This is a performance-based position. Your success and your compensation will be determined by your ability to hit aggressive KPIs and develop a high-performing team. If you cannot handle the pressure of delivering specific, measurable results, this is not the role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, coach, and coordinate a team of 5+ Event Promoters during local home shows, exhibitions, festivals, fairs, and community gatherings

  • Own the numbers: track, report, and optimize performance in real time

  • KPI

  • Appointments per hour

  • Sold

  • Travel to events throughout Southern California to monitor performance and provide real-time intervention

  • Recruit, hire, and train your own team members to meet performance standards

  • Monitor booth setup, presentation quality, and customer engagement to ensure maximum conversion

  • Report event performance, sales metrics, and customer leads to management with complete transparency

  • Provide on-the-spot guidance, coaching, and problem-solving during events to turn around underperformance immediately

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role:

• Proven ability to deliver measurable results in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Strong leadership with KPI accountability (appointments, demos, conversions)
• Track record of improving team performance with clear, measurable outcomes
• Takes full ownership of results and performs under pressure
• Able to lead, manage, and execute simultaneously
• Highly organized, proactive, and performance-driven
• A ready leader who can step in and elevate results immediately

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience managing events, field marketing, or lead generation teams in home improvement, solar, roofing, windows, or related industries

  • Documented track record of managing team KPIs with specific improvement metrics (e.g., 'Started at 0.5 appointments/hour, achieved 1.0 appointments/hour within 3 months')

  • Experience managing teams of 5+ people simultaneously

  • Proven ability to recruit, hire, and train high-performing team members

  • Must be available to work weekends and travel to events throughout Southern California

  • Reliable transportation required—must be able to travel to events 30-40 miles from central LA

  • Direct experience with 'appointments per hour' and 'demos per hour' tracking and optimization

  • High comfort level with performance-based accountability and pressure-driven environments

Benefits:

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
