Position Overview:

We are seeking a Community Event Manager to join HeyGen’s Community & Education team and play a pivotal role in shaping our events strategy and execution. The position will focus on supporting in-person, virtual and hybrid community-led events, frequently collaborating with community members, customers, and strategic partners. The ideal candidate will have a passion for relationship-building, community-first experiences, fantastic organizational skills and proven experience organizing events end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of in-person, virtual and hybrid events including workshops, meetups, webinars, and conferences. Develop detailed event timelines, budgets, oversee vendors, contracts and logistics to ensure smooth execution.
  • Serve as the main point of contact and trusted partner for community event organizers, building strong relationships to understand their passions and goals. Support customers in hosting events that align with our brand values and customer-first approach, without being overly prescriptive.
  • Support the HeyGen Community Meetup program to grow to 50+ events annually, managing 5+ events simultaneously.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including Marketing, Sales and Partnerships to execute engaging programming aligned with team objectives and drive event promotion logistics.
  • Track registration metrics and post-event surveys to implement strategies that optimize attendance, engagement and scale.
  • Be willing to travel up to 50% of the time as required for event site visits, vendor meetings, and on-site support for in-person events

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of firsthand experience producing events, ideally within a SaaS, tech, or startup environment.
  • Proven track record of executing both in-person and virtual events including community meetups, webinars and/or conferences.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and support user communities, ambassadors or advocates.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple events, budgets and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to brief internal teams, vendors, and speakers effectively.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with teams like Marketing, Sales, and Partnerships.
  • Strategic mindset for aligning events with broader marketing and business goals.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
