📍 Full-Time | Hands-On Fundraising Experience | Community Impact | Local Events & Campaigns

Are you passionate about community service and eager to build a career in nonprofit marketing and public engagement — not traditional event planning? We’re seeking a dedicated, people-focused individual to join our cause-driven outreach team as an Event Marketing Assistant.

This is not a role in wedding, banquet, or private event coordination. Instead, you’ll gain hands-on experience in grassroots fundraising, cause-based campaigns, and live public outreach — where your work directly impacts community change.

💼 Role Overview:

As an Event Marketing Assistant, you’ll support our direct fundraising team by executing in-person outreach activations across neighborhoods, retail hubs, and community centers. You’ll engage the public, represent nonprofit partners, and mobilize support for critical social causes.

🛠 Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and execution of community-facing marketing and fundraising campaigns

  • Assist with event setup, coordination, and breakdown at live nonprofit outreach initiatives

  • Engage directly with the public to raise awareness and inspire action

  • Collaborate with marketing staff to deliver on-brand, impactful event experiences

  • Build trust and educate community members on social impact issues

  • Participate in professional development and leadership training

  • Uphold compliance and represent the organization professionally

  • Contribute to team goals and adapt to evolving campaign needs

✅ Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal communication and a people-first, service-oriented attitude

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, public-facing outreach environments (not banquet halls!)

  • Detail-oriented with good time management and eagerness to learn

  • Self-starter able to work independently and collaboratively

  • Experience in customer service, sales, marketing, or fundraising a plus, but not required

  • Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Availability for local travel and occasional weekend shifts

💡 This Role Is Not For You If:
  • You want to work in wedding planning, private parties, or corporate event logistics

  • You prefer behind-the-scenes coordination without public interaction

  • Grassroots, cause-based public outreach isn’t your passion

💡 Ideal Candidate:
  • Recent graduates, students, or career changers exploring nonprofit marketing or public service

  • Volunteers, fundraisers, or outreach workers passionate about community impact

  • Outgoing, organized individuals excited to gain purpose-driven experience

  • Anyone looking to be part of a mission bigger than themselves

🎁 What We Offer:
  • Paid, hands-on training in nonprofit outreach, communications, and event marketing

  • Clear advancement opportunities into team leadership and campaign management

  • Collaborative, mission-first environment where your impact matters

  • Regular team-building events, mentorship, and ongoing support

  • Resume-worthy experience working with recognized national and local causes

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
