About the Team:

The ETF Platform team sits within BlackRock Global Markets & Index Investments (BGM), which brings together Index Investments, Markets, Liquidity & Financing, and Platform & Strategy. BGM delivers superior market access and investment outcomes through:

  • World-class expertise spanning investment insight, markets, risk management, and process design

  • Embedded technology teams developing cutting-edge intellectual property to drive scale, quality, and risk control

  • Market leadership focused on accessibility, resilience, transparency, and lower costs for investors

The ETF Platform team designs and delivers scalable products and operating models across the ETF value chain. The team evolves workflows, infrastructure, and market architecture to enable innovation within the ETF wrapper.

Role Overview:

This role is on the US ETF Platform team, driving platform and market transformation to support BlackRock’s ETF innovation and growth agenda, working across investment, trading, operations and product teams. The candidate will be expected to bring deep ETF market and industry expertise to innovate and expand the ETF platform—unlocking new operating models, instruments, strategies, and ecosystem connectivity. The role requires strong partnerships across the business and externally to design scalable, risk-focused solutions and leading industry engagement to support continued platform evolution.

Key Responsibilities:

This person will be responsible for partnering across the firm to evolve our ETF platform, providing innovative solutions to expand the ETF wrapper, designing scaled solutions, with a focus on risk management, and industry engagement. 

  • Lead the evolution and re-architecture of the ETF platform to support product growth, scale and risk oversight

  • Design ETF operating model and workflows for new strategies or exposures within an ETF wrapper

  • Drive ecosystem development to support scaling and trading of our ETF product suite, ensuring ETF participants such as Authorized Participants (APs) and market makers can effectively support new products

  • Evolve primary market models to enhance investor protection, liquidity, commercial efficiency, and regulatory alignment

  • Embed ETF market expertise into platform development, delivering innovative and scalable solutions across the ETF lifecycle

For San Francisco, CA Only the salary range for this position is USD$150,000.00 - USD$200,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
