The Regional Advisor Consultant (RAC) is a key ETF-focused sales professional responsible for independent business development within strategic growth advisor segments, with a strategic emphasis on the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) channel. This role owns ETF asset growth through targeted outreach, product positioning, and relationship cultivation. The RAC is expected to demonstrate strong ETF expertise, proactive territory management, and the ability to generate new opportunities across RIAs, independent advisors, and underserved channels. The Regional Advisor Consultant (RAC) is an integral part of the team and the sales distribution efforts of New York Life Investments.
New York Life Investments is seeking a results-driven RAC to lead sales efforts across West Coast region, with a focus on our expanding lineup of Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs). As a key member of the NYLIM distribution team, you will serve as a consultative partner to financial advisors and institutions, driving ETF asset growth through strategic business planning, relationship management, and expert product positioning.
This role will work in the RIA channel-empowering financial professionals with actionable ETF insights and solutions.
What You'll Do:
  • Own and execute a territory-level ETF growth strategy focused exclusively on strategic growth advisor segments, including RIAs, independents, and emerging practices.
  • Independently generate new ETF business through proactive outreach, virtual and in-person meetings, webinars, and advisor events.
  • Identify and engage untapped advisor relationships, with a strong emphasis on delivering ETF solutions tailored to the unique needs of fiduciary-based practices.
  • Deliver ETF-specific technical insights, including product structure, portfolio applications, and capital markets positioning, to support advisor adoption.
  • Develop a pipeline of new ETF opportunities, with a focus on growing AUM across differentiated client types and expanding reach beyond Advisor Consultant business plans.
  • Act as the primary ETF business development contact within your assigned advisor segment and territory.
  • Collaborate with ETF Product, Capital Markets, and Marketing teams to align outreach efforts and contribute feedback from the field.
  • Drive sales and market adoption of a targeted lineup of NYL Investments ETFs, with a concentrated focus on a specified group of products aligned with firm strategy.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with financial advisors, institutional clients, and key distribution partners focused on ETF strategies.
  • Leverage deep understanding of portfolio construction, index methodologies, and active vs. passive ETF strategies to position NYLIM products competitively.
  • Articulate the structure, trading mechanics, liquidity, creation/redemption process, and tax efficiency of ETFs to clients.
  • Coordinate with NYLIM's Internal Advisor Consultants, Capital Markets Desk, and ETF Product Specialists.
  • Provide regular market commentary and ETF flow analysis.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support ETF product launches, messaging, and innovation.
  • Utilize CRM and sales analytics tools to track activity and adapt strategies.
  • Lead business development efforts with a particular emphasis on the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) channel, delivering ETF solutions tailored to the needs of fiduciary advisors.
  • This role will cover the Mid-West and West states.

What You'll Bring:
  • Demonstrated success in ETF business development across RIA and independent channels.
  • Experience launching new territories or building relationships from the ground up.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial sales environment.
  • Active FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses (required); Series 65/66 preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of investment sales experience, with demonstrable ETF sales and product expertise.
  • Prior experience and demonstrated success in the RIA channel strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of ETF ecosystem and financial advisor practice management.
  • Proven ability to meet/exceed sales targets.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and consultative selling skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with high energy and self-motivation.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (50%+ within territory).

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: Base salary $75,000 + Sales Incentives
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: No
Sales bonus eligible: Yes
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
Please note: This role requires FINRA licensed and/or FINRA Associated Person pre-hire fingerprinting.
