The Esports team is focused on delivering amazing fan experiences through our global events and regional competitions. Our professional and semi-professional competitive tiers in League of Legends, VALORANT and other Esports involve thousands of players and hundreds of organizations competing every week.

The TFT & Emerging Esports team is focused on developing new esports for Riot. Today, that focus is on TFT, the largest strategy game in the world, and 2XKO, our upcoming 2D fighting game. In the future this focus could include other new titles from Riot. While some roles on the team are focused on supporting specific games, this role is a program manager that supports all the games in the Emerging Esports portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management  - Create project management tools, rituals, and systems that support our games and events, such as 2XKOs launch, and TFT Opens.
  • Drive Prioritization - Work with product managers on TFT & Emerging Esports, focused on specific games, to understand product requirements for their games and how they would partner with other teams across esports and Riot, understanding their objectives and impact, to create a cross game prioritization that drives alignment with partner teams to on how to have the most impact on our games.
  • Operational Strategy - Partner with Business Development, Content Services, Esports Tech, Finance, and Insights, to develop options and strategies for how we put our near and long term plans into action, exploring opportunities for efficiencies when we build something in-house, through a 3rd party, or a combination of both.
  • Esports x Game Integrations - Drive opportunities with Esports Tech and Game teams to increase awareness, interest, and engagement with our esports - such as in-game notifications, livestats, and other game features

Required Qualifications: 

  • 6+ years of program management experience
  • Experience working with broadcast, events, and software development teams
  • Experience working in ambiguity to build new initiatives/products from the ground up
  • Experience working with on a global team, partnering with international teams around the world to deliver results, even when you can’t be in region
  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors, including RFP development, vendor selection and onboarding, and operationalizing their scope
  • Experience working with executives and senior leaders and presenting to large groups across all levels of an organization
  • Experience with Google Sheets/Excel and Google Slides/Powerpoint

  • Passion for TFT, Fighting Games, and Esports
  • Experience working with teams in China
