About Cardamom

The next evolution of healthcare requires flexible, agile teams to deliver high-tech, results-based solutions and support. Our team is here to help our customers tackle the initiatives and challenges on their organizational roadmap, and give clinicians, operational teams, and researchers access to the data they need to take care of their patients and improve health outcomes.

Cardamom is cultivating a multidisciplinary team of exceptional individuals with diverse skills and experiences in healthcare — data, analytics, AI, and EHR application experts. We are also passionate about growing the careers of those who may have little or no experience in these fields when the opportunity arises. Our team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, revenue cycle professionals, and certified application specialists would love for you to join us.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Epic Hospital Billing Analyst to join our team. As an Epic Hospital Billing Analyst, you will assume a leadership role in implementing and maintaining the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system for our clients. You will work as a part of a team-based culture to meet our clients’ support needs while mentoring others and having fun! As an Epic Hospital Billing Analyst at Cardamom, you will:
  • Spearhead enterprise-wide initiatives, collaborating with senior leadership, the Cardamom Team, and key stakeholders to define and execute the strategic vision for Epic system implementation and optimization
  • Provide high-level strategic consultation to clients, guiding them through complex system challenges and delivering innovative, future-proof solutions that align with both business and technical objectives
  • Lead complex troubleshooting efforts, identifying systemic issues and implementing sophisticated solutions that optimize system performance and mitigate risks across all operations
  • Shape the creation and governance of system documentation, developing standards for internal and client-facing materials, ensuring that all configurations, workflows, and processes are documented with precision and clarity
  • Establish best practices for internal knowledge management, creating strategic documentation frameworks, training programs, and operational guides to continuously elevate the team's efficiency and expertise
  • Mentor and guide cross-functional teams, providing coaching, knowledge transfer, and leadership for complex projects while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organization
  • Ensure proactive management of SLAs, driving high-level service excellence and working with clients to address and exceed their expectations through strategic solutions and performance improvements
  • Serve as a key liaison between leadership, clients, and technical teams, facilitating high-level communications, aligning diverse teams around common objectives, and ensuring that all critical decisions and outcomes are documented and communicated effectively
Our ideal Epic Application Analyst will have:
  • Expert-level Epic certification(s) and specialized knowledge in multiple complex Epic modules, with a track record of leading and advising on large-scale implementations, optimizations, and system-wide improvements
  • 4+ years of experience in Epic application support, implementation, and strategic consulting, with a focus on managing high-level technical and operational challenges across a diverse healthcare ecosystem
  • Proven thought leader in driving strategic initiatives, guiding stakeholders (executive, clinical, IT) through technology transformations and aligning systems with overarching business goals
  • Expertise in ITIL and service management, providing leadership in incident and change management processes to ensure the highest standards of service delivery and performance
  • Ability to mentor, train, and influence organizational growth, creating best practices, training materials, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team
  • Proven leadership in on-call management and crisis resolution, ensuring swift, effective decision-making during high-stakes situations outside of standard business hours
  • Ability to travel up to once a year

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
