Education: Preferred but not required certification in Epic Business Intelligence Development. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, computer sciences, math, information systems, or statistics

Experience / Qualifications: Strong communication skills. Critical thinking and an analytical mind. User‐focused design and data visualization skills. Proficiency with SQL and relational database concepts

Proficiency and demonstrated experience with analytics tools. Deep understanding of system build, end user workflows, and patterns of use. Technical skills to design and write reports. Familiarity with Epic applications and database structure. Ability to gain an in‐depth understanding of data models

Ability to understand data structures. For financial reporting: Prior experience working with an AR system is desirable, but not required. For clinical reporting: Prior experience working with an EMR system is desirable, but not required.

Position Summary

The Epic Business Intelligence Developer Business intelligence developers (BIDs) create analytics content for end users and third parties who require Epic data. Configuring and testing Epic‐released and Foundation System content for all applications, including: Reporting Workbench. SlicerDicer data models. Radar dashboards. Cogito SQL. Creating content to display Epic data from Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle. Writing SQL and configuring Radar settings for custom SQL metrics. Modifying existing reports, as necessary. Distributing analytics content to data consumers. Reviewing peer reports for validity. Working with subject matter experts to understand the needs of data consumers. Maintaining the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata records. Testing analytics build in a specified testing environment and volume testing in live environments. Reviewing upgrade documentation related to Clarity and Caboodle features and determining how to implement the changes. BIDs might also be responsible for building and maintaining: Cubes, Extracts, SlicerDicer custom filters, Third‐party BI tools

Threshold Requirements

These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis. Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation. TB/PPD Surveillance Program. Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
