JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr. Accountant establishes and maintains the general accounting reporting and practices for the organization. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare and/or review necessary journal entries for properly stated ledgers and financial statements in accordance with regulations (e.g., GAAP) and company policy.

The position will be part of the Company's shared services General Ledger Accounting department in Brea, CA. This person will be required to be in the office (Brea, CA) three times per week (Tues/Wed/Thurs) & maybe subject to change.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in month-end closing and ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Analyze month end and quarter end accrual balances to determine appropriate reserves in accordance with GAAP and company policy.
  • Review journal entries necessary to provide an accurate accounting of the corporation’s financial position.
  • Analyze financial statements to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes to summarize and interpret the current and projected financial position of the company.
  • Assist in the preparation of reporting packages, as required, to comply with corporate financial reporting requirements and statutory regulations.
  • Resolve accounting errors, discrepancies, and reconciling items.
  • Make recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, liabilities, and expenditures.
  • Communicate these findings through written narratives and oral presentations to management.
  • Provide support for internal and external audit requests by preparing and submitting required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to gain efficiencies.
  • Coordinate and manage balance sheet reviews and other worldwide compliance activities.
  • Assist with overall SOX compliance program for general accounting.
  • Liaison between worldwide entities and headquarters to support GAAP, Compliance and company policy inquiries.
  • Document and coordinate the implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures and modify it as necessary.
  • Submit recommendations for improving the company’s accounting processes.
  • Assist with Special projects and create ad-hoc reports and analysis as required.
  • Guide and mentor Staff Accountant(s) to ensure adherence to all corporate policies and legal requirements.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 4+ years related accounting experience, especially working in multi-national companies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (especially MS Excel).
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and SOX is required.
  • Experience working with an ERP System (Oracle/SAP, etc.); Oracle a plus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPA preferred.
  • Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), is a plus.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and do what it takes to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience directly or indirectly leading others.

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
