The simple task of buying software, services, or tools at work has become hopelessly complicated at even the most innovative companies in the world. Today, enterprises spend $120T+ per year globally (>30 times larger than annual consumer e-commerce spend) and rely on vendors more than ever before to run their businesses.

Our cofounders started Zip in 2020 to address this seemingly intractable problem with a purpose-built procurement platform that provides a simple, consumer-grade user experience. Within the last 4 years, Zip has created a new category and developed the leading solution in this $50B+ TAM space. Today, the world’s leading companies like OpenAI, Snowflake, Anthropic, Coinbase, and Prudential rely on Zip to manage billions of dollars in spend.

We have a world-class team coming from category-defining companies like Airbnb, Meta, Stripe, Salesforce, Apple, and Google. With a $2.2 billion valuation and $370 million in funding from Y Combinator, Tiger Global, BOND, DST Global, and CRV, we’re focused on developing cutting-edge technology, expanding into new global markets, and—above all–driving incredible value for our customers. Join us!

Your Role

As a Procurement Transformation Advisor at Zip, you will partner with prospective customers to drive enterprise-wide procurement process modernization and transformation initiatives.

This is a business advisory role focused on procurement operations, stakeholder engagement, and intake-to-pay optimization — not a technical or IT architecture position.

You will bring a deep understanding of cross-functional procurement processes and help prospective customers envision a future state powered by intake and orchestration and modern procurement best practices. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will guide customers through aligning internal stakeholders, selling their transformation vision internally, and building strong foundations for a successful procurement transformation powered by Zip.

You’ll also serve as a thought leader in the evolving field of procurement transformation, sharing insights at industry events, webinars, and through thought leadership content. Internally, you’ll collaborate closely with Zip’s Advisory and Product teams to share feedback, refine methodologies, and influence the future of our solutions to better serve enterprise clients.

You Will

  • Partner with Zip’s sales team to accelerate revenue growth by guiding prospective enterprise clients through their procurement transformation journey, powered by Zip.

  • Advise clients on best practices for building internal stakeholder alignment and selling their transformation project internally, ensuring strong executive sponsorship and organizational buy-in.

  • Translate Zip platform demos into real-world business outcomes, helping prospects clearly understand the value Zip can deliver to their procurement processes.

  • Lead assessments of prospective clients’ current-state procurement environments, identifying areas of opportunity for intake and orchestration and process improvements.

  • Own and deliver Zip’s Accelerator program, educating prospective clients on procurement transformation best practices and building their internal project vision.

  • Collaborate with Zip’s Advisory and Product teams to share client feedback, influence product enhancements, and continuously refine our client engagement methodologies.

  • Actively contribute to Zip’s thought leadership by speaking at industry events, hosting webinars, and publishing articles on procurement transformation and intake orchestration trends.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement Operations, or Procurement Consulting roles.

  • Proven experience leading procurement transformation initiatives at large enterprises (10,000+ employees), driving cross-functional change and modernizing intake-to-pay processes.

  • Strong ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and influence C-level executives and cross-functional decision-makers.

  • Prior consulting or internal advisory experience assessing current-state procurement operations and defining future-state transformation roadmaps using software solutions.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and executive storytelling skills — both written and verbal.

  • Deep familiarity with procurement processes, vendor management, sourcing, third party risk, contracting, and purchasing workflows.

  • Self-starter with strong business acumen and the ability to quickly grasp new technology platforms.

  • Passion for delivering client value and helping enterprises achieve operational excellence through intake and orchestration and procurement modernization.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience implementing Zip or other procurement solutions.

  • Familiarity with intake and orchestration concepts and best practices.

  • Prior experience working at a high-growth SaaS company.

The salary range for this role is $200,000-$250,000 OTE. The salary for this position is determined based on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant experience, education, or particular skills and expertise.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
