About Wunder

Wunder is building a Modern Energy Company.

We were founded with one simple vision: to address the greatest crisis of our generation by accelerating the deployment of solar energy. In doing so, we help businesses, municipalities, and schools save money by delivering clean on-site power. We convert simple warehouses into electrified industrial platforms built for the future. We enable the nation’s leading commercial and industrial real estate firms to capture the benefits of solar across their properties. We align ESG goals with revenue targets, and the renewable energy assets we’re deploying today will power America’s tomorrow.

Wunder is actively developing hundreds of commercial solar projects across the country. Our team has evaluated more than 30,000 properties for solar across all 50 states to meet our customers where they are—which is everywhere! Our customers have a national footprint and so do we. Wunder’s proprietary technology platform enables us to develop solar at scale, across a portfolio that includes everything from self-storage facilities and schools to data centers and industrial logistics facilities. Our average solar system—about 430 kilowatts in size—can offset 350,000 pounds of coal burned each year of system operation!

The Role

We have an amazing opportunity for an energetic, charismatic, and relationship-driven Sales Executive to join our fast-growing team and work on multi-million dollar renewable energy deals every week. Energy industry experience is NOT required, but you should be well-versed in successfully closing complex sales processes (e.g., financial products, commercial real estate or infrastructure transactions, etc…).

In this role you will work cross-functionally and strategically to onboard new clients, who range from Banks to REITs to sovereign wealth funds, private equity shops, family offices, and UHNWI’s. You will need to flex your communication, pipeline management, and sales skills to approach target customers, educate them on solar and energy storage solutions, and deliver successful outcomes for high-impact, high-value partnerships. To be successful, you will need to become an expert on commercial and industrial customer archetypes, target markets, real estate dynamics, and corporate decision-making structures.

This role is unique because you will be on the front lines in our fight against climate change. If you get excited about bringing real solutions to an overlooked market, closing million-dollar deals every week, building an organization aimed at saving the world, and ensuring that all of the details needed to make all of that happen are covered, this is the role for you.

About You
  • Sales Experience  - You have 4+ years of experience in sales, brokerage, or business development, personally closing complex transactions. You have experience partnering with clients to understand their needs, deliver solutions that meet their unique goals, manage complexity, and accelerate transactions to a close.

  • Sales Hunger - You consistently beat your targets. You love hopping on the phone, sending emails, attending industry conferences, developing relationships, and digging into the details. You’re always willing to follow up, grab a drink, or hop on a plane to close a deal. You track your sales metrics religiously.

  • A No-Task-Is-Too-Small Attitude - We close big deals and make a big impact. A lot needs to get done in the process, and there's no room for ego here.

  • Relationship Management Experience  - You’re a people-person. You can guide your clients through processes with ease, handle objections, and always remember their favorite restaurants, dog names, and preferred ski runs. A day doesn’t go by when you don’t make a new connection, whether it’s on the phone with a potential client or in line to order a coffee.

  • Financial Fluency - While client interaction is a big part of the job, comfort with numbers is a must. On-site energy projects are economics-driven, so you need to be eloquent in how you communicate complex financial concepts.

  • You Have a Team Ethos - You thrive in a creative, inventive, fast-paced rapid-growth environment, with people who are passionate about their work and mission. You’re not just excited to work cross-functionally, you crave it.

  • You’re Flexible, a Quick Responder - The problem we’re trying to solve as an organization is dynamic and each day brings fresh and exciting challenges. You can react quickly and efficiently when called upon to change or pivot.

  • You Believe That No Problem is Too Hard - In an industry where people are constantly stuck, we find ways to get it done. You know how to articulate and roll out solutions, recognizing there are many solutions to the same problem. You find new and effective ways to streamline and create processes to increase efficiency.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
