How You'll Make an Impact
- Collaborate with sales teams and clients to assess requirements, design network solutions and deliver tailored proposals for data, voice and video services
- Lead WAN and unified communications design, prepare technical documentation and present solutions for internal review
- Mentor junior Sales Engineers and drive account planning for seamless integration and client satisfaction
- Conduct product demonstrations, respond to RFI/RFPs and contribute to enterprise strategy
- Oversee site surveys, post-sale documentation and coordinate project teams for efficient installations
- Deliver technical training, maintain product expertise and support new launches
- Ensure compliance and contribute to special projects
Working Conditions
- Eligible employees may work from home up to one day each week under Spectrum's Hybrid Work Policy, with primary work in an office setting
What You'll Bring to Spectrum
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical training, education and experience in a related field
Experience
- 3+ years technical sales experience or experience supporting sales efforts for large enterprise customers in Sales Engineering or Networking roles in the telecom or service provider industry
Skills
- Skilled in designing WAN solutions for up to 100 sites using SD-WAN, Ethernet and legacy technologies
- Advanced understanding of data security systems, including firewalls, VPNs, DNS, routing, switching and protocols such as BGP, OSPF, CoS/QoS and emerging technologies
- Expert in networking concepts like VPN, TCP/IP, MPLS, VPLS, DWDM, CWDM and multimedia applications
- Experienced in Unified Communications and voice protocols including SIP and VoIP for hosted and on-premises solutions
- Strong leadership in mentoring junior engineers, multitasking and managing cross-functional projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and proposal design skills
- Proven ability to build lasting relationships with technical and executive leaders in large enterprises, influence IT and executive decision-making and contribute to RFI/RFP/RFQ processes.
- Proficient with MS Visio, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Consultative solution design informed by industry trends, regulatory changes and enterprise decision-making
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and insurance
Preferred Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training, education and experience preferably focused on IT or Telecommunications Engineering Technology
Experience
- 5+ years experience in voice and data communications roles including Sales Engineering, Solution Architect, Network Engineering or Administration, Value Added Reseller or other technical positions
- Experience in strategic account positioning with executive management and developing strategy and technical responses for RFP, RFI or RFx
Skills
- Professional certifications in data networking, WANs, voice communications or network security from providers such as ISC, Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto or Juniper
- Ability to present service designs in clear terms, articulating benefits and outcomes
