About Xano:

Xano is the leading backend infrastructure platform for building APIs, logic, and workflows that power modern apps, services, and AI agents—visually and without code. Built for the agentic era, Xano provides everything you need to launch and scale AI-driven systems: dynamic APIs, contextual business logic, scalable storage, and secure, production-grade deployment—without DevOps overhead or stitching together fragmented tools. Trusted by over 100,000 users in 90+ countries.

Why We’re Hiring:

As Xano is on a mission to become the best backend for the agentic era, we’re launching bleeding-edge features that push the limits of what's possible with visual development and AI. Our secure and scalable backend already makes Xano uniquely suited for enterprise use, but the complexity of these new capabilities has led to a sharp rise in high-touch support needs.

To ensure smooth operations during this exciting period of growth and innovation, we’re hiring an Enterprise Reliability Engineer to lead white-glove enterprise technical support and manage the infrastructure that powers our platform’s reliability and scalability.

In this role, you'll play a critical part in resolving technical escalations, fixing production bugs and improving internal tools that support customer operations. Your work will keep enterprise instances running smoothly while enabling our core engineering team to stay focused on shipping the future of Xano.

Who We’re Looking For:

You’re someone who thrives in high-stakes environments and enjoys being the go-to technical problem-solver. You have strong DevOps fundamentals, a customer-first mindset, and deep experience working with PHP in production environments - specific Xano experience is a plus. You're just as comfortable diving into infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines as you are tracing a complex bug through a legacy PHP service or improving an internal tool used to troubleshoot enterprise issues.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys tackling tough, high-impact problems at the intersection of infrastructure, support, and backend systems and who takes pride in making things work reliably at scale.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Own technical resolution for enterprise escalations, acting as the primary engineering point of contact for urgent, complex issues.
  • Investigate and fix production bugs across our backend, with a strong emphasis on debugging issues in our PHP codebase and supporting systems.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure-level issues and customer environment edge cases, bringing a deep understanding of system behavior under load.
  • Maintain and improve platform reliability through hands-on DevOps work, including CI/CD, observability, and deployment tooling.
  • Operate and evolve internal support tooling, working closely with our Internal Tools Engineer to streamline debugging and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate across support, engineering, and customer teams, ensuring consistent communication and a clear path to resolution for enterprise clients.
  • Develop deep product and platform expertise, becoming a go-to resource for both internal teams and key customers.
  • Contribute to new feature development, especially where backend or infrastructure expertise is needed, while staying grounded in day-to-day support impact.

Core Competencies:

  • Technical Execution: Proficient in cloud infrastructure (e.g., GCP, Azure, AWS), CI/CD pipelines, system monitoring, and debugging production systems. Experience with PHP and backend architecture, and specifically Xano is a strong plus.
  • Customer Empathy: Able to translate technical concepts into clear explanations and handle enterprise clients with professionalism and care.
  • Problem Solving: Thinks critically under pressure, gets to the root of issues quickly, and implements effective solutions—both short and long-term.
  • Internal Tooling & Ops: Comfortable using and improving internal systems and tools to streamline support processes.
  • Communication: Navigates both asynchronous and live conversations with internal and external stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
  • Collaboration: Works well across engineering, support, and go-to-market teams; thrives in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
  • Ownership & Initiative: Doesn’t wait to be told what’s broken—proactively identifies issues, proposes improvements, and sees things through.

Xano is a bring your own device company and this role will require the use of your own personal laptop/computer.

Why work at Xano:

This is an exciting opportunity to work at a fast-growing, mission and community-driven startup.

  • Opportunity for impact: we have an open, direct team culture: leadership discusses initiatives, issues, and plans openly, and enjoys being challenged on their thinking.
  • We move fast: we are product-led and are focused on execution in the day-to-day. This means no endless meetings on strategy and execution. If we disagree about a feature direction, we'll default to trying it out in a quick, low-risk way.
  • Ownership: we measure success based on customer happiness. If you pitch something you think would dramatically improve our users' lives and the team agrees, the response will almost always be “Let’s do it!”

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
