Position Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Enterprise Product Director with deep experience in 5G, telecommunications infrastructure, and government systems integration to lead the strategy, execution, and delivery of complex, multi-vendor systems within a government environment. This leader will be at the intersection of technical innovation, vendor orchestration, and national security objectives, translating high-level executive strategy into practical, actionable product direction.

The role requires exceptional systems-level thinking, executive communication skills, and the ability to balance competing priorities while steering a cross-functional development team through the complexities of a secure, scalable, and operational product ecosystem. You will advise senior government stakeholders, manage technical and business risk, and ensure interoperability across partners and platforms.

This is a strategic yet hands-on leadership position that blends product vision, architectural understanding, and team leadership in support of mission-critical initiatives.

Key Objectives

  • Drive the realization of a cohesive, operational mobile platform supporting mission needs through the integration of multiple vendors and technologies
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior government stakeholders, shaping acquisition strategies and guiding technical direction.
  • Translate executive-level strategy into executable roadmaps and daily product decisions for agile development teams.
  • Lead the definition and evolution of technical products that serve national defense and government communications needs.
  • Maintain situational awareness of emerging technologies, policy changes, and telecommunications standards, ensuring the product remains ahead of threats and aligned with federal priorities.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Product Leadership

  • Define and own the long-term product vision and strategic roadmap, aligning it with national communications objectives and defense strategy.
  • Align internal and external team execution with DoD acquisition strategies
  • Work closely with senior leaders, acquisition officers, and engineering leads to deliver on program milestones and support modernization goals.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary liaison to senior government stakeholders, communicating complex technical issues in clear, business-relevant terms.
  • Provide strategic input to acquisition and programmatic decisions; influence direction at senior levels of the government.
  • Anticipate stakeholder concerns and proactively mitigate risks through data, insight, and persuasive communication.

Systems Integration & Vendor Orchestration

  • Lead the integration of multiple vendor products into a unified, secure, and scalable solution, managing technical interoperability and performance dependencies.
  • Ensure robust interface definitions, data sharing agreements, and platform compatibility across mobile, cloud, and edge systems.
  • Navigate regulatory, compliance, and security considerations across the MOSS platform.

Day-to-Day Product Execution

  • Manage and prioritize a dynamic product backlog, ensuring timely delivery of value-aligned features across agile teams.
  • Guide software engineering teams through planning, delivery, and iteration, maintaining alignment with overall product strategy.
  • Write high-quality epics and user stories that reflect a deep understanding of 5G, network architecture, and edge computing
  • Conduct backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives, and release coordination across internal and external development partners.
  • Manage the team roadmap and the strategic roadmap in parallel.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with all parties - development team, government leadership, Clarity leadership, vendors, and stakeholders.

Risk Management & Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Translate technical requirements and architectural constraints into actionable features and roadmap items.
  • Identify and mitigate architectural risks, tech debt, and integration challenges early and often.
  • Leverage data and experimentation to guide decisions around system performance, scalability, and operational readiness.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 25+ years of experience in technical product management, with a focus on telecommunications, mobile networks, and 5G systems
  • Deep expertise in 5G technologies, telecommunications infrastructure, network slicing, spectrum management, and secure mobile systems.
  • Masters in Business Administration
  • Proven experience advising government clients, particularly within the DoD or federal civilian agencies.
  • 10+ years of experience leading multi-vendor system integrations at the platform or ecosystem level.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels, from long-term visioning to sprint-by-sprint execution.
  • Experience managing SBIR projects for the DoD.
  • Experience deploying and operating telecommunications solutions multinationally.
  • Experience leading EDGE hardware development efforts.
  • Experience supporting expeditionary first responders.
  • Experience with the development and operation of Software Defined Networks.
  • Expert in communicating across levels – from engineering teams to executives to policymakers.
  • Experience with mobile device development and engineering.
  • Experience working in secure environments and delivering mission-critical software systems
  • Comfortable working in environments with competing priorities, resource constraints, and shifting goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Zero Trust architectures, cybersecurity protocols, and network performance monitoring.
  • Experience with military communications systems or tactical mobile platforms.
  • Experience managing or integrating with platforms like DISA systems, BESPIN, or AFNet.

Success in This Role Looks Like:

  • A clear, unified product vision that integrates complex technologies into a reliable and secure operational capability.
  • Effective alignment across technical, contractual, and stakeholder domains.
  • Teams delivering rapidly, reliably, and in alignment with strategy—even under pressure.
  • High trust from government leadership, built through consistent value delivery and strategic guidance.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
