Who is Risk Labs?

Risk Labs is the foundation and core team behind UMA and Across. The Risk Labs team operates as one cohesive culture, but focuses on two core protocols: UMA and Across. UMA and Across are decentralised protocols governed by community members across the globe in DAOs, and are supported by Risk Labs Foundation. UMA's optimistic oracle (OO) can record any verifiable truth or data onto a blockchain. Across is leading the future of interoperability with its frontier intents-based architecture.

We are a remote-first, globally distributed team focused on building infrastructure that pushes crypto forward.

The Role

Risk Labs is hiring a senior commercial leader to help drive institutional adoption of prediction market infrastructure.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role focused on building and owning a small number of strategic enterprise relationships with sophisticated institutional counterparties. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll operate at the intersection of commercial strategy, technical product conversations, and regulated market infrastructure. This is not a role for someone looking to manage a large sales team or run a mature playbook. This is not a traditional high-volume sales role. Success in this position will come from deeply understanding a handful of key enterprise opportunities, navigating complex technical and regulatory conversations, and helping bring enterprise prediction market integrations to life.

The ideal person combines strong commercial instincts with technical fluency, product judgment, and experience navigating regulated financial environments.

What You’ll Do
  • Own a focused portfolio of high-value enterprise opportunities from initial outreach through commercial close and long-term expansion

  • Build trusted relationships with sophisticated institutional counterparties, including regulated financial and market infrastructure participants

  • Lead commercial and technical conversations with business, product, engineering, and executive stakeholders

  • Translate enterprise requirements into actionable product and technical feedback for internal teams

  • Partner closely with product, engineering, legal, and leadership to navigate technical diligence, compliance considerations, and commercial structuring

  • Drive enterprise integrations from early technical scoping through launch

  • Help shape Risk Labs’ enterprise go-to-market strategy for prediction market infrastructure

  • Represent Risk Labs externally in strategic conversations, industry events, and ecosystem partnerships

What You BringCore Requirements
  • 7+ years in enterprise sales, strategic partnerships, business development, technical commercial roles, or similar

  • Strong track record of closing complex enterprise deals with sophisticated institutional buyers

  • Strong technical fluency and comfort leading technical product conversations independently

  • Ability to understand APIs, system integrations, infrastructure concepts, blockchain architecture, and technical implementation workflows

  • Strong product judgment and ability to translate customer requirements into clear product direction

  • Excellent executive communication and commercial judgment

  • Ability to operate independently in ambiguity with high ownership

Nice to have
  • Experience working with financial institutions, exchanges, brokers, derivatives businesses, fintech infrastructure providers, or other regulated market participants

  • Familiarity with US market regulation and frameworks relevant to institutional trading environments (e.g. CFTC, DCMs, DCOs)

  • Comfort reading smart contract logic, navigating blockchain explorers, and reasoning about technical systems without requiring heavy engineering support

  • Experience navigating enterprise compliance, procurement, and legal processes

  • Exposure to prediction markets, blockchain infrastructure, oracle systems, or crypto-native products

Success in This Role

Within your first 12 months, success may look like:

  • Closing and expanding a focused portfolio of strategic institutional partnerships

  • Delivering meaningful enterprise revenue against commercial goals

  • Bringing enterprise prediction market infrastructure integrations live

  • Helping shape how Risk Labs serves regulated institutional counterparties in this emerging category

Why This Role Matters

Prediction markets are evolving into a meaningful new category of market infrastructure.

Risk Labs is helping build the infrastructure layer that powers this shift, including oracle systems and prediction market primitives that sophisticated institutional participants can rely on.

The right person in this role will help define how regulated and enterprise participants engage with this category.

This is a rare opportunity to work on category-defining infrastructure, own highly strategic relationships, and help shape a market from an early stage.

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive salary with a mix of salary, tokens, and equity. Our goal is to create a holistic package that meets your needs and provides exposure to the upside of what you're building and the impact you create.

  • Paid in stablecoins or fiat, your choice

  • Unlimited vacation, and we actually take it

  • Family care, training, and development support

  • 100% remote

  • At least two company-wide offsites per year

Closing

Studies show that women and people of colour are less likely to apply unless they meet every qualification. Risk Labs is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace. If you're excited about this role, even if your experience doesn't align perfectly, we encourage you to apply.

Risk Labs is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or veteran status.

Our Values

  1. We value curiosity.

  2. We value openness, honesty, and directness.

  3. We value integrity.

  4. We value iterative learning.

  5. We value taking smart risks.

  6. We value being high agency.

Why Work at Risk Labs?

We're a mission-driven team aligned with the ethos of crypto and focused on meaningful impact. We value ownership, adaptability, and kindness. We support personal wellness, professional growth, and flexible work environments, whether you're family-focused, nomadic, or somewhere in between.

Our Team and Backers

Our global team blends deep technical expertise with diverse business perspectives. Backed by investors including Placeholder, Blockchain Capital, Bain Capital, Coinbase, and Dragonfly.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
