About this role
The Digital Workplace AI Engineering team is responsible for building and scaling the core engineering platforms that power AI‑enabled employee experiences across the digital workplace, with a focus on reliability, reuse, and measurable business impact. The team designs and maintains reusable AI frameworks, integration patterns, and shared services that support Copilot, AI agents, automation, and enterprise system connectivity, while owning technical architecture, code‑heavy solutions, performance, and production reliability. Working closely with portfolio, operations, risk, security, privacy, release, and adoption partners, the team enables a faster and safer path from pilot to production by establishing standards, observability, and reference architectures that reduce development time, improve quality, and allow AI capabilities to scale consistently across workflows and platforms
Your Role and Impact
As an Engineer within the Digital Workplace AI Engineering team, your role is to design, build, and operationalize AI‑enabled workplace solutions that are reliable, reusable, and ready to scale across the firm. You focus on developing Copilot Studio agents, Power Platform automations, and integrations using established engineering frameworks, reference architectures, and observability standards, helping move AI use cases from pilot to stable production.
Your impact is measured through improved time‑to‑value, reduced rework and defect escape, and increased reuse of shared components that support Copilot, agents, and workflow automation across the digital workplace.
An ideal candidate for this role is a hands‑on engineer with solid experience in Power Platform and Copilot Studio, a strong understanding of integration patterns and enterprise controls, and a disciplined engineering mindset—someone comfortable working within guardrails, collaborating closely with product, operations, security, and risk partners, and contributing to platform consistency and reliability rather than one‑off solutions, while steadily growing toward broader platform ownership and architectural influence
As a M365 Copilot Product Specialist, you will:
Build and deliver AI-enabled workplace solutions by developing Copilot Studio agents, Power Platform automations, and integrations that support employee workflows and are suitable for enterprise production use, rather than one‑off or experimental builds.
Contribute to reusable platform capabilities by implementing shared components, patterns, and frameworks that can be reused across Copilot, agents, and automation scenarios, helping reduce development time and increase consistency across solutions.
Implement and follow engineering standards including reference architectures, observability practices, and quality controls to improve reliability, reduce defect escape, and ensure solutions meet performance and operational expectations.
Partner with cross‑functional teams such as product, portfolio, operations, security, risk, privacy, and release management to ensure AI solutions are built within enterprise guardrails and can move smoothly from pilot to production
Enable scale and measurable impact by aligning engineering work to outcomes such as increased reuse, faster delivery cycles, improved reliability, and a shorter path from initial deployment to broad adoption across the digital workplace.
Work with your product peers, squad members and engineering leads to prioritize and coordinating projects and tasks.
Work with vendors and third parties to escalate issues and petition for feature and enhancement requests.
Provide technical and process support and guidance where appropriate.
What You'll Need
Experience interacting with product stakeholders, including end-users and software developers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations and communicate up and down the organization.
Subject-Matter Expertise in the M365 product suite.
Build and operate enterprise copilots using Copilot Studio
Implement secure agent actions that call Power Automate/connectors/APIs with permission-aware responses and least-privilege access.
Engineer cloud flows for orchestration/approval/integration with robust error handling, retry, concurrency control, and performance/throttling resilience.
Experience building Canvas and Model-driven apps
Design Dataverse models (tables/relationships/rules), manage solution architecture, auditing, keys, and performance patterns aligned to app + automation needs.
Implement Dataverse security roles/teams, row/field-level security, environment access controls, and secure connection strategies.
Drive environment strategy (dev/test/prod), DLP policies, managed environments, monitoring, and compliance-ready operational controls.
Integrate Copilot Studio with AI Foundry for deeper customization (e.g., BYOM models, advanced orchestration patterns, scaling/governance).
Implement AI capabilities (e.g., Azure AI Search, Azure Document Intelligence) for grounding, extraction, classification, and retrieval patterns supporting copilots and apps.
Monitor and troubleshoot production apps/flows/copilots; implement alerting, run analytics, incident response, and RCA/runbooks.
Ability to architect & deliver end-to-end solution design, document standards/diagrams, lead reviews, and translate business needs into scalable platform outcomes.
Proficient ability to create technical documentation, product roadmaps and user-facing documentation.
