Enterprise Business Development Manager. West Coast  — Brave Search API

Remote - West Coast - USA

Remote | Full-Time | Sales & Partnerships

Brave is on a mission to fix the web by giving users a safer, faster, and more private browsing experience. Already serving over 120  million monthly active users, Brave is also building the next generation of privacy-respecting, independent search technology — Brave Search — from the ground up.

We are now seeking a highly driven, experienced, and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to drive outbound sales efforts, execute deals, and manage ongoing partnerships for the Brave Search API, targeting top-tier AI companies, LLM providers, and search-integrated platforms. This is a high-impact, revenue-focused role for someone with deep outbound sales and partnership experience and the hunger to build from the ground up in a fast-moving, startup-like environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the outbound sales strategy for the Brave Search API, focusing on enterprise deals with top AI and search-integrated companies.
  • Drive pipeline growth through aggressive outbound prospecting, cold outreach, and tailored pitch development.
  • Identify, contact, and engage decision-makers at high-value companies; effectively communicate the value of Brave Search’s independence, privacy, and performance.
  • Manage the full sales cycle — from lead generation to signed contracts — with support from product and technical teams.
  • Deliver compelling demos and presentations that resonate with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, marketing, legal) to ensure seamless deal execution and post-sale integration.
  • Provide feedback to internal teams based on customer needs, market trends, and competitive insights.
  • Consistently meet or exceed ambitious sales targets.

Requirements

  • Self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in B2B sales or business development, with a proven track record in outbound sales and closing complex API, SaaS, or data partnerships.
  • Experience selling to AI, search, data, or developer-focused companies is strongly preferred.
  • Deep familiarity with technical sales — able to confidently pitch APIs and data infrastructure to product and engineering stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills — persuasive, confident, and concise in writing and speaking.
  • Comfort with CRM tools and modern sales engagement platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Outreach, Apollo).
  • Strong belief in Brave’s mission and values, including user privacy and internet decentralization.

Bonus Points

  • Experience working in early-stage or high-growth startup environments.
  • Background or deep interest in search technology, LLMs, or AI infrastructure.
  • Strong technical or analytical background.
  • Familiarity with the Brave browser and Brave Search.

Why Join Brave?

  • Remote-first team with people from around the globe.
  • Competitive compensation and equity package.
  • Mission-driven culture with a focus on user privacy and web innovation.
  • An opportunity to help redefine how search works in the age of AI — with one of the only fully independent search indexes on the market.

Compensation:   $150,000.00 in salary X2 OTE

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
