About Us

We're on a mission to revolutionize the CAD industry by developing the world's most advanced hardware design infrastructure and tools. Mechanical CAD is in the dark ages, and hardware demands have outpaced today’s hardware design infrastructure. The industry is due for a refresh, and we're laying the foundation for a modern hardware design toolkit so that you can create new design tools never before possible.

We are headquartered in Los Angeles, CA with both a local and remote team. We were founded and incubated by Embedded Ventures in 2021.

About You

We’re looking for curious, innovative, and ambitious self-starters to join our lean and growing team to help us bring our mission to life. We think you’ll thrive on our team if you’re:

  • Curious at your core, with an eagerness to learn and do things differently
  • Customer-focused, always thinking about ways to improve the user experience
  • Able to operate autonomously and work asynchronously, while also being an effective team player
About The Role

We are looking for a strategic Account Executive to join the Zoo team to drive a best-in-class sales process to achieve growth targets for the company. The person selected for this role will work closely with Zoo’s Director of Sales to test, iterate, and build out the company’s foundation of enterprise sales. You will be responsible for proactively pushing deals forward and positioning Zoo solutions that align with customer objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in tech sales and prior experience owning an end-to-end sales process. You will be expected to have significant knowledge of the hardware design ecosystem, prior experience collaborating with engineering teams, and a deep understanding of how customers can best utilize Zoo’s products.

What You’ll Do
  • Drive Zoo’s end-to-end sales process from developing, managing, closing, and onboarding customers
  • Help build a solid operating cadence around pipeline, forecasting, deal review, sales execution, and customer onboarding
  • Identify and target new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and research
  • Lead engaging discovery meetings, uncovering customer needs and desired business value
  • Manage the overall relationship and communication with key customers and have full command of their business model, application landscape and how Zoo’s solutions deliver value
  • Provide guidance and best practices to apply Zoo products and technologies to achieve customers' business goals
  • Partner with the Zoo team to translate prospect feedback into meaningful product insights
  • Stay current with industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to continuously improve our sales approach and offerings
What You’ll Need
  • Demonstrated success in SaaS/software sales with experience owning the end-to-end sales process, including prospecting, qualifying, demoing, negotiating, and closing independently
  • Experience working and closing 6-figure enterprise deals in highly technical sales processes
  • Proven track record of consistently hitting quotas in prior roles
  • Experience independently building and refining early sales processes, documentation, creating pitch materials, sales collateral, business cases, ROI calculations, and pipeline management
  • Proven ability to gather and relay customer feedback to product and engineering teams
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity. Willing to wear multiple hats while being adaptable, proactive, and collaborative in a startup environment
  • Ability to develop and speak about ROI from a potential Zoo customer’s perspective and relate it to their business needs
Nice to Have
  • Prior startup experience influencing early-stage sales processes with highly technical products
  • Familiarity with CAD
  • Familiarity with HubSpot

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
