Who We Are

4M is the first Utility AI Mapping Platform built for infrastructure owners, planners, designers, and builders. Powered by proprietary AI and verified by geospatial experts, 4M compiles millions of fragmented public utility records and satellite imagery into one easy-to-use map—giving teams instant access to utility data they can trust and verify at every stage of planning, design, and pre-construction.

Trusted by CDOT, TXDOT, GDOT, HDR, MasTec, and Kimley-Horn, 4M replaces manual research and scattered records with a single source of truth—helping teams identify risks earlier, reduce field time, and keep projects on time and on budget.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a driven, strategic Enterprise Account Executive to lead expansion in our AEC vertical, selling into the largest engineering firms in the US.

This is a full-cycle enterprise sales role focused on driving new logo acquisition and expansion within top ENR-ranked firms, those leading large transportation and utility programs. You’ll engage both top-down with executive sponsors and bottom-up with technical champions to build multi-stakeholder consensus and deliver measurable enterprise value.

You’ll join a high-performance team at a pivotal moment - as 4M moves from selling data to delivering enterprise software outcomes and scaling strategic partnerships with the biggest names in AEC.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the full enterprise sales cycle - from prospecting and opportunity creation through contract negotiation, close, and expansion.
  • Target and grow accounts with 1,000+ employees, focusing on top ENR AEC firms serving DOTs, utilities, and infrastructure owners.
  • Build relationships across both technical and executive levels - from VPs and Practice Leaders to COOs, CIOs, and Chief Digital Delivery Officers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with CS, SE, Product, Marketing and Leadership to align account strategy, ensure customer success, and uncover expansion paths.
  • Develop champions and deliver clear ROI narratives that position 4M as a strategic platform investment.
  • Lead and participate in industry events and onsite client sessions to strengthen relationships and generate demand.
  • Pipeline generation is core to this role - requiring strong personal prospecting and outreach discipline, through attending conferences, leveraging network, relationships, and self-outreach.
  • 5+ years of enterprise SaaS, Contech sales related experience, ideally selling to AEC or engineering firms within transportation or utilities.
  • Background in both large Contech environments (Procore, Trimble, Bentley, Autodesk, etc.) and startups, bringing process discipline and agility.
  • Proven success closing deals in the $40K–$250K+ ARR range and expanding to six-figure enterprise contracts.
  • Skilled at navigating complex, multi-stakeholder deals with both business and technical audiences.
  • Excellent communicator with strong executive presence and storytelling ability.
  • Willingness to travel 1-2 times per month for client meetings, industry conferences, onsite sessions.
  • Nice to have - Familiarity with planning workflows, utility coordination, SUE, GIS, or geospatial tech.

Key Attributes We Value

  • Work Ethic: You consistently go the extra mile to deliver results.
  • Grit and Resilience: You take initiative, adapt to challenges, and maintain momentum in long sales cycles.
  • Curiosity and Passion: You’re eager to understand the intricacies of our product and its impact on client workflows.
  • Coachability and Growth Mindset: Open to feedback and committed to personal and professional growth, with the adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.

**We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes competitive compensation, generous health coverage (with partial support for family members), 401(k) matching, flexible time off, and extended parental leave, all designed to support your well-being and growth at every stage of your journey with 4M.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
