The Traffic pod is part of the Networking team within Infrastructure. It is responsible for the systems running at the front line of our Edge datacenters, accelerating player experience through high performance load balancers and proxies.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead engineers to deliver best-in-class load-balancing infrastructure for Roblox and its community.
- Scale our Edge Termination and Load-Balancing infrastructure products.
- Work with partner teams within Roblox in support of large cross-functional Company initiatives.
You Will
- Lead, support, and expand a team of engineers focused on accelerating client-to-Roblox traffic.Mentor engineers and team leads to ensure the continuous growth of your team's expertise.
- Enhance and extend our systems with a focus on performance, reliability and cost to serve.
- Be a gatekeeper for a high code quality bar, architectural designs, and pragmatic vs. long-term approaches.
- Uphold our company vision by putting the Roblox community first and exemplifying our values through thought leadership.
You Have
- 5+ years of engineering management experience.
- A track record of hiring and nurturing a high-performing engineering team.
- Proven expertise in building highly scalable distributed systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and external partners.
- A passion for solving complex problems and driving technical excellence.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.
Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
