#WeAreCrowdStrike and our mission is to stop breaches. As a global leader in cybersecurity, our team changed the game. Since our inception, our market leading cloud-native platform has offered unparalleled protection against the most sophisticated cyberattacks. We work on large scale distributed systems, processing over 1 trillion events a day with a petabyte of RAM deployed in our Cassandra clusters - and this traffic is growing daily. We're looking for people with limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to developing and shaping our cybersecurity platform. Consistently recognized as a top workplace, CrowdStrike is committed to cultivating an inclusive, remote-first culture that offers people the autonomy and flexibility to balance the needs of work and life while taking their career to the next level. Interested in working for a company that sets the standard and leads with integrity? Join us on a mission that matters - one team, one fight.
About the Role:
CrowdStrike Falcon is a two-component security product. One component is the "sensor", installed on endpoint client systems that observes system activity and recognizes malicious behavior, then provides on-box prevention capability and remote telemetry to the Falcon cloud. The cloud component aggregates sensor telemetry for each customer's network and can correlate malicious behavior across multiple machines, presenting our customers' operations teams with a prioritized summary of the threats detected in their environments.
Join CrowdStrike and become a key leader in building the most innovative endpoint security solution in the world. Our Windows sensor platform team is responsible for building and maintaining the core components of the sensor. As an Engineering Manager, you will be expected to have ownership over major components and development projects as well as training/growing your team. You will be required to assist with architecting solutions and support in implementing our core features. Features will cross-cut most core OS subsystems such as file system, memory and process, and networking. Many features are also built in a way that they will have shared components across multiple platforms. You need to be able to lead projects efficiently while maximizing performance and minimizing costs, making sure high standards are being followed when it comes to design, coding quality, and unit and component testing.
What You'll Do:

  • Provide partnership on the sensor development team involved in architecture, strategy, in building and improving next-generation Anti-Virus and Enhanced Detection and Response Security Software.
  • Develop new product concepts.
  • Support development teams in designing and building software.
  • Own features from design to delivery including participation in product demos.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams in various locations.

What You'll Need:

  • General knowledge and understanding of C++ and Windows Operating System internals
  • Experience working with teams to ship major features and releases.
  • Experience as either Senior Manager or an Engineering Manager with direct reports
  • Ability to lead, mentor, communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a distributed team

Bonus Points:

  • Strong background in scalable, light-weight and highly performing systems
  • Windows OS system expertise for core concepts and subsystems
  • Familiarity and experience with Agile process
  • Knowledge and expertise in the Security landscape

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
