About this team:
Super.com’s infrastructure team mission is to build & manage infrastructure, improve developer tooling and experience, resolve incidents, and enhance all Super.com employees' ability to leverage AI technologies. The team is primarily responsible for the infrastructure around building, deploying, and monitoring our services, databases, and caches. This team’s responsibilities span across the entire company, and include supporting all services, verticals, teams, and business functions. 

About the role:

  • Lead and manage a team of 2–3 full-time engineers and 2 interns
  • Contribute to the company’s DevOps strategy and infrastructure decisions
  • Accelerate development with faster, safer, more frequent deployments
  • Improve developer happiness and productivity with better tools and workflows
  • Empower developers and non-developers to use AI through internal tooling, AI code reviews, asynchronous agents, and shared context
  • Deliver cost savings through infrastructure optimizations
  • Build, maintain, and ensure high availability of AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Hire, retain, and grow top engineering talent
  • Execute on business-critical projects end-to-end
  • Ensure the stability, scalability, and reliability of infrastructure

What you'll be working on:

  • Manage the technical and people leadership aspects of a team of 2-3 engineers (+2 eng interns). You will be accountable for the continued staffing of the team, including being a key contributor to hiring processes
  • Propel the business and engineering org forward by leading high-impact projects end-to-end in an iterative, data-driven, scaleup environment
  • Shape the technical roadmap for the team, contribute to product roadmap and OKR discussions, and drive the engineering agile scrum processes for the team
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and growth, ensuring team members excel with oversight and mentorship, are working on projects at the intersection of interest, experience, and business impact, and have concrete opportunities for growth
  • Strategically contribute technically - write important design docs, tackle particularly difficult challenges, and jump in as an individual contributor when appropriate to unblock and advance the team’s initiatives
  • Contribute to cross-team technical meetings and discussions, collaborate closely with other engineers and teams outside of engineering, and operate as the clear owner of Super.com’s DevOps flows and infrastructure. 

Our Technology:

  • We use a state of the art architecture powered by Node and Python microservices and React frontend
  • We use Postgres for storage, Redis for caching, and Snowflake for our data warehouse
  • We use Gitlab for version control and CI/CD, and our infrastructure is hosted on AWS, making use of Kubernetes, RDS, etc
  • We invest heavily in monitoring and automated alerting using Datadog
  • We use Amplitude, Hotjar, and LogRocket for client-side metrics and experimentation
  • We use Material-UI and maintain our own component library, using Figma for mock-ups
  • We integrate with a multitude of third-parties to support our compliance, risk, and security policies

Who we are looking for:

  • 1+ years infrastructure engineering manager or 3+ years as a senior infrastructure engineer with notable mentorship, hiring, and leadership experience
  • Significant experience building and operating environments with AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform
  • Familiarity with production monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing systems (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, OpenTelemetry, etc.)
  • Strong technical background with knowledge of networking, POSIX operating systems, and backend software engineering
  • Ability to code in a modern language well enough to write a single-file script and review python tooling code changes for the team
  • Experience as a technical lead for shipping major features/projects, and worked with multiple codebases. Track record of successfully leveraging written communication skills while managing projects.
  • Proven track record of success with hiring & interview processes

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with any or all of our existing stack: AWS, Kubernetes, Istio, Terraform, Cursor on Coder Remote IDE, Python, Gitlab CI/CD, Cloudflare, Datadog
  • Formal engineering management experience
  • Experience in a startup/scaleup environment
