The Role
Build out our data team - data engineering and data science.
The goal is to help product teams and business leaders make informed decisions. This position is essential — as our company and user base continues to grow at a rapid pace, we're looking to find a leader to spearhead the development and growth of our data function. The team is expected to drive a wide range of initiatives: determining and measuring north star metrics, understanding our key growth vectors and how to optimize them, using AI to analyze the market and identify opportunities, derive competitive insights from public blockchain data, etc.
You'll be working closely with our world-class growth, product, engineering, and marketing teams to help make data-driven decisions on how to best drive forward the company.
What you'll do:
- Grow and manage a team composed of data engineers and data scientists
- Partner with product teams and business leaders across Alchemy to identify the highest leverage projects and decisions that we want to root in data.
- Lead the team to develop and implement data pipelines and data analyses so we get real-time business insights into all our business lines.
- Evangelize the use of data and AI across Alchemy, show everyone what is possible, in particular in the area of market intelligence.
- Build tooling so most questions can be answered in a self-serve manner.
- Build expertise with on-chain data sources, and solve some of the unique challenges that the industry faces in being able to observe trends across all chains in real-time.
What we're looking for:
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or related domains, and 3+ years of management experience
- Deep expertise in data pipelines, data science and data tooling
- Experience using AI tools
- Excellent communicator and are comfortable discussing complex technical concepts with engineers and partners at any level
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to think critically and objectively assess security risks
- Experience working with startups
- Prefer experience with AWS, Snowflake, DBT, and Apache Superset
- Prefer experience working in Web3
- Able to work Hybrid in SF or NYC only

Alchemy is committed to offering competitive compensation, including base salary as well as equity. Additionally, Alchemy offers comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as other benefits such as 401k and unlimited flexible time off.
The base salary range for this position is estimated to be between $135,000 - $275,000 annually. Please note this range reflects base salary only, and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Your salary will be determined by various factors, including relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business needs.
