Engineering Manager, Application Security Platform

Application Security is integral to the Datadog stack. The Application Security Platform team focuses on centralizing, monitoring, and adopting our Application Security policies across the SDLC. As the Application Security Platform Manager, you will build, lead, and drive this team to continuously improve our application security posture, protecting Datadog and our customers from potential security threats, risks, and attacks. We protect the product, empower teams to control their security posture; enabling teams through collaborative development of security tools and resources, and scaling security through the development of secure solutions that can be built into our platforms as secure-by-default configurations.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage and grow the Application Security Platform team, directly managing 5 security engineers. 
• Define Application Security Standards that proactively address existing and emerging threats specific to the Datadog stack, as well as align with industry best practices but also.
• Design and build secure solutions to enable teams to adopt security controls through secure-by-default configurations within our platform systems.
• Collaborate with platform and product teams across Engineering to develop secure solutions and defaults, enabling engineers to follow the golden path for secure design.
• Use metrics, measurements and KPIs to sustain or improve our security posture over time.
• You’ll have a direct impact on the Datadog security product suite by leveraging the product internally and continuously providing actionable feedback to Product.
• You won’t have all the answers but you’ll help foster a high-performance and inclusive culture.

Who You Are:

• Passionate about security and want to work on complex security problems, at-scale, in a large multi-cloud environment
• You have great communication skills, emotional intelligence and skills at collaborating with and coaching folks from different backgrounds.
• You have direct people management experience and a strong desire to develop as an engineering leader.
• You thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and find ways to drive outcomes working with key stakeholders.
• You have prior experience in Software Engineering, Security Architecture, Application Security, and/or Offensive Security.
• You stay updated with modern security best practices, technologies and emerging threats
