What We'll Bring:
We are seeking a Technical Lead to drive the development and delivery of applications and services within TransUnion’s global platform ecosystem. This role is a remote Technical Lead responsible for providing technical direction while leading and growing a team of engineers.You will play a key role in building a new engineering team in Costa Rica, supporting global operations and collaborating with teams across the US and India. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a high level of ownership to ensure successful delivery of scalable and high-quality solutions.
What You'll Bring:
Technical Leadership & Delivery
- Define and drive the technical direction, architecture, and design of applications and services
- Lead the development of scalable, cloud-based solutions and platform components
- Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and security
- Provide hands-on technical guidance to the team when needed
- Drive end-to-end ownership of projects from design through delivery
- Lead a team of engineers, including: DevOps Engineer(s) and Full Stack / Cloud Developer(s)
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance guidance
- Support team growth and capability development
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and collaboration
- Collaborate with global teams across US, India, and Costa Rica
- Ensure alignment across teams and stakeholders to deliver solutions effectively
- Work closely with engineering, platform, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Promote modern engineering practices, including Agile development and continuous improvement
- Encourage the use of AI tools to improve productivity and development workflows (e.g., coding assistance, automation)
- Support modernization and optimization of existing platforms and services
Impact You'll Make:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in software development
- 5+ years of experience in technical leadership and/or people management roles
- Proven experience leading teams with direct reports
- Strong experience in:
- Application design and system architecture
- Cloud-based development environments
- Service-oriented architectures and APIs
- Hands-on experience with .NET or Java (or both)
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to have
- Experience leading distributed or global teams
- Familiarity with development tools such as VS Code
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working in platform or large-scale enterprise environments
- Familiarity with AI tools used in software development workflows
