An Engineering Coordinator is essential to ensure technical and regulatory compliance of engineering projects run smoothly.  An engineering coordinator performs engineering team tasks, including managing documentation, coordinating with external engineers and utility companies, assisting with project planning, and tracking progress.  Often leveraging strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills to support engineering teams and project goals from concept through commissioning.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external engineers to integrate multi-disciplined design packages.
  • Process incoming files and set up project folders.
  • Coordinate, convert and update project files (CAD, cut-sheets, PDF, etc.) for collaboration with clients, utility companies, internal and external engineers.
  • Create utility CAD files (based on utility company standards) for coordination with serving utility companies.
  • Convert survey CAD files to standard layers and configuration.
  • Create CAD drawings, and coordinate project support sheets (cover sheet, EVSE cable reach, details, etc.)
  • Produce CAD drawings and technical documentation for permitting and construction.
  • Collaborate with our internal engineering team to assist with meeting project deadlines.
  • Collaborate with clients, utility companies, internal and external engineers to address project needs and revisions.
  • Coordinate owner/operator standards and equipment specifications.
  • Support project managers in scheduling, budgeting, and milestone tracking.
  • Support project managers with utility coordination and applications.
  • Participate in construction administration, including field visits (across the US) and contractor coordination.

Your Background:

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial project engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bluebeam, Excel, and Word tools.
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, UL, ADA, and permitting requirements.
  • Engineering bachelor’s degree or related field a plus!.
  • Additional experience in EV, BESS, or commercial solar infrastructure a plus!
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Passion for sustainability and clean energy innovation.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Time off

ABB provides 11 paid holidays.  Vacation is provided based on years of service for hourly and non-exempt positions.  Salaried exempt positions are provided vacation under a permissive time away policy.

 

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $65,100 and $80,000 annually.
