We are looking for a Tech Lead Manager to lead the ProducePay Platform team. ProducePay is growing rapidly, and as we create additional products and services we have found that we need a platform team to help develop and work on the services shared across ProducePay. You will be working on organization wide services (e.g. auth/accounts) that are consumed by our product teams as they build out their products. As Tech Lead Manager, you will be providing technical leadership and managing the engineers on the platform team. This role requires heavy collaboration with other teams to understand the challenges they face and to help solve them as quickly as possible.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Work with the Technical Product Manager to pick priorities, plan out the week, and assign work to reports. You aren’t just doing what the TPM says, but instead you are working with them to accomplish a shared goal.
• Create and review tech designs for large features.
• Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality. We use code reviews as an opportunity to teach, learn, and maintain code quality. Conducting thorough reviews is an important part of leading a tech team.
• Collaborate with product teams to coordinate the delivery of shared services
• Write code when the team needs an extra productivity boost.
• Manage 1 - 5 engineers. We believe strongly in creating a culture of mentorship and growth within ProducePay. As a TLM you will need to conduct 1:1’s and help encourage and facilitate technical growth within your team.
• Have a hands-on attitude. While it’s important to delegate work to your reports, it’s also important to be willing to jump in and solve a problem or handle a crisis

Requirements

• Hands on experience building services for other teams. You've seen the mistakes that might trip people up, and can anticipate any bottlenecks that may occur.
• Comfort with reading, understanding, and learning different programming languages. Currently, our product teams either use Ruby on Rails or Elixir/Phoenix, and you may need to read and understand what's happening in the existing services.
• Experience shipping production-quality software for 5+ years.
• 2+ years of experience managing and leading teams of engineers (agile workflows preferable)
