Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior engineer for Systems Engineering and Test to help define the future of SATCOM! The SATCOM Capability Integrator is plotting a course to a secure, assured future SATCOM architecture, managing cross-program technical baseline and interfaces, and delivering integrated capabilities to the Joint warfighter. You will co-lead a team of developmental testers for SATCOM systems across the SMC Corps. You will assist in planning for and executing operational transition of extended data rate capability on the AEHF system. You will provide deep program office understanding of systems engineering and test issues and will belong to and help lead, with your Government counterpart, a high-performing systems engineering and test team interacting with technical personnel and management from Aerospace, our customer, and other contractors and FFRDCs.
Key Functions
• Provide developmental test leadership for an SE&I contractor test team along with SATCOM Capability Integrator government POC
• Serves as a program office senior engineer and leader/coordinator for a team including senior technical contributors
• Acts as the principal representative to the customer for the project, coordinating multiple simultaneous tasks and taking responsibility for larger multi-disciplinary efforts
• Identifies issues, prioritizes tasks, facilitates communication, and acts as a spokesperson
• Acts as a source for and helps scope technical support activity; monitors progress and reporting to the customer
• Acts as a senior mentor to other team members providing technical guidance and programmatic insight
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's degree in science, mathematics, or engineering, or related
• 12 or more years of related experience in progressively more responsible engineering roles
• Strong experience in space systems engineering
• Strong communications and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to perform a systems engineering and/or test leadership role
• A current and active SECRET clearance
Preferred
• Advanced degree in science, mathematics, or engineering, or related
• Exceptionally high level of innovation, creativeness, and initiative
• Widely recognized depth in multiple core technical competencies
• Systems Engineering experience in DoD Verification and Validation processes
• Broad lifecycle experience to include familiarity with requirements development, design review, system integration, and test, risk assessment, requirements verification and validation, and enterprise test
• Prior experience in creating developmental evaluation frameworks, test planning and test execution
• Understanding of Defense Acquisition System
• Experience with systems engineering on DoD SATCOM systems
• A current and active TS/SCI
