The Aerospace Corporation Space Systems Group (SSG) serves as the technical and programmatic advisor to the United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) [formerly Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC)] for acquiring, developing and fielding capabilities for the United States Space Command and joint warfighter as well as to maintain America's comprehensive military advantage in space.
As a Senior Project Engineer in the Space Development Division supporting the SSC Development Corps engineering division (SSC/DCE), you will lead Aerospace's efforts to provide systems engineering and independent assessments in support of experimentation, prototyping, and pre-production programs including cross-cutting assessments of technical risks and opportunities.

- Support System of Systems standardization, implementation of modular open systems approaches (MOSA), and interchangeability.

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant Engineering, Math or Science subject area
- At least 12 years of progressively more responsible related experience in engineering, computer science, or technology development.
- Track record of leading integrated multidisciplinary teams and ability to interface effectively with senior management from the Government customer and development contractors
- Strong background in Systems Engineering and Integration
- Demonstrated ability to succinctly describe complex technical issues to engineering staff, senior leadership, and customers to influence outcomes
- Willingness to travel approximately 10 to 20 percent of the time
- This position requires current Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain SCI access, which is issued by the U.S. government; U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

- Experience in space systems, space technology development, DoD acquisition processes
- Previous team management experience and/or Aerospace Corporation program office experience
- Demonstrated ability to work in a high-pressure environment with rapidly changing priorities and a demanding customer
- Demonstrated ability as a self-starter and to work with limited project definition and evolving expectations
- Ability to lead through influence and not through direct line management
