WHY WE NEED YOU:

The System Engineering Team at Virgin Hyperloop One develops and matures the requirements for our current and future growth.

As our System Requirements Engineer for wayside sub-systems, you’ll be the domain owner for our pneumatic vacuum system and communication system (wireless signaling, transponder-based). You’ll develop functional, performance, interface, and RAMS requirements in collaboration with internal and external vendors.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Solve difficult, moderately complex system requirements engineering problems, such as:
    • Decomposing system requirements into low-level requirements
    • Developing low-level functional models and concise functional desciption documentation
    • Identifying functional and non-functional requirements
  • Complete multi-day assignments collaboratively with moderate supervision, such as:
    • Defining use case, conducting functional allocation, and evaluating requirement verification collaboratively with responsible design engineer
  • Responsible for making decisions within scope, such as:
    • Deriving requirements from your analysis of all relevant input documents (CONOPS, design, drawings, standards, and regulation)
    • Developing complete and harmonized requirements documents
  • Follow, contribute to, and develop processes, such as:
    • Requirements management and traceability in the requirements management tool
  • Support functional model and requirements review, verification and validation, test requirements, and safety requirements activities
  • Other projects as assigned

WHAT YOU’VE DONE:

  • Practical, working experience with systems engineering and requirements
  • Proficiency with requirements management tools, such as DOORS NG
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering tools, such as SysML modeling language
  • Experience writing logic and control requirements, especially for communication systems and pneumatic or hydraulic systems
  • Excellent technical understanding of prototype engineering, interface control documents, and mechanical or electrical engineering drawings
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
