Overview and Responsibilities
At Pluto TV, we approach testing differently - we are testing, and breaking, code constantly, but we help rebuild it better. We are urgently hiring a Software Test Engineering Manager, focused on our Revenue Systems. You will be responsible for the quality of the ad insertion & advertising revenue systems that drive our business. This is a hands-on API testing & backend Java testing position, leading a team of 5. We partner with software developers to create and code tests concurrently with product development. You will build tools that help developers be more productive, write better code and test it themselves. Troubleshooting is an understatement; it's more like trouble forecasting. You will have the opportunity in a highly visible and critical role to influence decisions on new features to further enhance our revenue and how to provide better quality coverage for the applications supported.
- Work in an Agile Software Delivery methodology highly focused on creating functional, performance and end-to-end tests based on requirements
- Provide a risk assessment on the defects identified and set the correct priority and severity
- Provide holistic assessment of quality based upon the existing implementation vs new feature development
- Develop testing and defect remediation process
- Mentoring Software Test Engineers on the following competencies:
- Test Automation and STE Test Automation Standards
- Use of STE Unified Test Framework
- Application behavior and testing techniques
- Test coverage for application(s) supported
Basic Qualifications
- Expert level REST API testing experience
- 5+ years of working experience developing test automation scripts specifically object-oriented frameworks (for Back-end Restful testing)
- Expert level Java skills for automation testing
- Experience testing and automation development of Advertising based systems at scale
- 3+ years of People Management experience with on-site and offshore teams
- Knowledge of NoSQL Databases (Redshift, Snowflake)
- AVOD / Streaming media experience is strongly preferred
- 4+ years of experience Functional Testing on Native Apps, OTT (Over-the-top), web platforms is a huge plus
- Load Testing and/or Performance Testing is a plus
- 2+ years of testing experience in an Agile software development methodology & exposure to Jira
