SkyView 1 is a high-growth fintech company on a mission to make wealth management better by putting banking products in the hands of the most comprehensive and independent financial advisors. Our team is building a platform that enables financial advisors to offer a high-interest, full-suite banking solution to their clients directly, elevating their overall level of service.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you are responsible for designing, implementing, and deploying high-quality software. You will work closely with software engineers, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver software products that provide value to SkyView 1’s customers. Your expertise and experience will be used to lead the development of complex applications and software systems, while also mentoring and guiding other engineers across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transform and architect technical strategy for SkyView 1’s engineering department.
- Architect complex but performant applications.
- Develop and maintain frameworks that can scale with user growth.
- Find solutions to business needs by working with stakeholders, business units, and customers.
- Make key technical decisions that influence engineering teams to build or select the right technologies and tools that fulfill the needs of the business.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers to support key development.
- Work closely with engineers, UX designers, and product managers to deliver optimized, friendly experiences.
Required qualifications:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with a record of leading large, complex projects.
- Experience building mobile/web applications.
- Experience building and/or extending backend systems, including APIs.
- Experience with technologies (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, React Native, React, NodeJS, CSS, HTML).
- Experience delivering high-quality products.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in setting technical direction.
- Experience in implementing and/or building long-lasting frameworks.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience establishing and leveraging web analytics.
- Practical implementation experience of design patterns.
- Experience in technical leadership.
- Experience working with management, stakeholders, and multiple teams.
- Ability to influence technology and product teams.
Knowledge of modern engineering practices and best practices for software development, including coding standards, code reviews, build processes, testing, and operations.
