Sr. SDET Engineer
Core Digital Media is looking for a Sr. SDET Engineer to join its growing team. Our technology team is responsible for the development and operations of all the consumer-facing web applications, our marketing platform and internal tools. We are leaders in online advertising – with a mobile first mentality. The marketing platform is built in-house and customized. We are a fast-paced working environment using Agile methodologies.
Our applications are constantly evolving to keep up with latest developments in software industry. We leverage the power of Java and popular frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, AngularJS for building enterprise-class applications. We are also moving our applications to a microservice oriented architecture to be CI/CD and cloud compatible.
We use for our legacy applications a QA automation framework, built using Selenium Webdriver , RestAssured and Appium. For our microservices we use testcafe (JavaScript) and Postman. With those tools we test on an extensive combination of simulators and real devices in the cloud. Our automation toolkit also includes automated visual validation testing– all of which allow us to scale efforts across mobile and desktop.
We are looking for a Sr. SDET Engineer to join our growing QA Department. The role will focus on testing and automation related to our consumer-facing web applications and internal tools.
Responsibilities:
- Develop manual and program automated test software using diverse tools and source documentation.
- Identify, track, and follow through on issues and defects
- Design benchmarks and testing framework.
- Work closely with project team to review requirements and to create the behavior documentation, suggest changes on requirements to design for testability and develop a test strategy
- Develop plans, scenarios, test cases and test scripts, execute test suites, analyze and report results
- Manage scope and priorities to complete testing efforts on time
- Insure the project’s deliverables and activities comply with requirements and QA standards
- Provide product / QA documentation to present to the rest of the team for training
- Deliver automation code that meets quality standards defined by the team
- Participate in code reviews of automation code
- Work with the extended Agile team members to deliver projects on time with high quality
- Document, track, and resolve software bugs or defects with help from the rest of the agile team.
- Integrate new technologies with our reporting system
- Conduct POCs for new technologies
- Put together training plans for the rest of the team on new technologies
- Perform tool evaluations
- Conduct technical interviews
- Troubleshoot production monitoring
- Takes on complex algorithm problems. Solutions should optimize to the best approach and should be able to produce useful results
- Optimize the automated process to reduce time to market while keeping the desired quality level and reducing the cost.
Skills:
- Excellent programming skills in Java or JavaScript
- Experienced writing automated tests
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Experience building/working with continuous delivery infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance methodologies and best practices
- Familiarity with data stores
- Strong technical knowledge of web application framework and microservices infrastructure
- Working knowledge of common automation tools such as Selenium Webdriver and Appium.
- Problem solving and excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Works well with cross functional team and able to resolve problems and conflicts
- Stays abreast of emerging technologies, techniques, and ever evolving industry standards
- Knowledge of test case management systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Adept at extracting information from written materials and identifying the action to be taken

- Solid knowledge of software development life cycles
- Proven ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple concurrent efforts, and quickly change priorities in a fast paced environment

- Strong work ethic and commitment to getting the job done
- Proficient in writing test plans and test cases
- Understands the automation process and how the automation frameworks operate
- Experience with Testcafe
- Experience with automation for applications on the AWS Cloud
- Proficiency writing GWT
- Clear understanding and experienced on using risk based testing
Requirements:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, or related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial software development in SDET role
- Proficiency in automated scripting languages including Java and Javascript
- Experience with automated test tools and frameworks including TestCafé, Postman, Selenium Webdriver and Appium.
- Experience creating automated scripts for both desktop and mobile (android and iOS)
- Proficiency in CI/CD automation through Jenkins
- Experience programming using different Design Patterns
