Sr Project Engineer ESS System Integration

Seeking a Senior System Engineering expert for the Evolved Strategic SATCOM (ESS) System Engineering, Integration, and Test branch. Provide technical leadership in an integrated program office of Air Force, Aerospace, SE&I, SETA, and contractors. Provide support to system integration and integration strategies for prototyping and fielding phase of the program, crypto development, and combat bus integration plans. Support synchronization of government and contractors for the space and ground segments. The selected candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills required for interacting with Aerospace peers, SETA, contractor representatives, and Air Force counterparts.
Key Functions
Directly supports the ESS Lead System Integrator and Systems Integration functions
Understanding of Space System Acquisition and Space System Program Management
Develops in collaboration with the government and stakeholders:
System integration strategies
Top level integration plan for ESS
Prepare data artifacts and products in support of digital engineering efforts and design reviews
Conduct mission trades between segments and with external mission partners
Development and monitoring of MOU/MOAs
Risk identification and mitigation plans
GFx plans and contingencies
System-level optimization via trades between cost, schedule, performance, and risk
Program IMS development
Qualifications
Required
12 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or science from a recognized institution
Demonstrated experience in satellite acquisition, development, system engineering, and integration
Experience in system definition, requirements development, and verification
Experience performing risk and schedule assessments
Ability to lead and work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams with Aerospace, government, and contractor personnel
Demonstrated team leadership, strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing
Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret and SCI , which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
Preferred
Advanced technical degree in engineering, science or physics
Experience with military protected satellite communications
Experience with the AEHF system requirements
Experience supporting ESS
Experience in integration of complex Government systems, system level I&T, or orbital ops
Experience performing technical planning and cost/risk analysis for total systems
Digital engineering knowledge or experience
Experience with Model Based System Engineering
Familiarity with Aerospace culture and prior experience coordinating with Engineering & Technology Group (ETG)
Familiarity with the Aerospace Mission Assurance Processes
