Success in this role requires a willingness to take initiative in discovering all aspects of the back end systems.  It also requires applying that knowledge to debug issues and to develop robust solutions for the business.

This role reports directly to the Backend Engineering Manager.

• Two or more years of professional work experience writing backend (server side) code
• The ability to discuss system and component design
• A  mindset of continuous learning
• Experience with PHP or Python is highly preferred
• Experience with MySQL or Postgres is preferred
• Experience building APIs or services using RESTful principles is preferred
• Experience with Redis or a caching layer is a plus
• Experience with Elasticsearch is a plus
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
