The Data Infrastructure team at GoGuardian manages the high-throughput, real-time pipelines of educational technology data that power the learning experience for millions of students across the world. GoGuardian is seeking a Senior Engineer to work closely with cross-functional teams across Engineering and other departments to help us build and maintain the large scale, high-performance, robust, and secure data pipelines that power our products. This role will involve architecting and deploying systems and processes that operate under scale, providing security and reliability while remaining cost-effective and developer-friendly. This includes data ingestion and processing pipelines, storage and query layers, and transformation and analysis systems.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement reliable, high-performance data pipelines to meet customer-facing and internal product needs
• Leverage various data storage and manipulation technologies to ensure the availability of data and analytics at scale
• Write maintainable and readable code using various programming and configuration languages
• Effectively document and communicate complex ideas with other engineers and non-engineers
• Collaborate in an agile environment with engineers, product managers, data analysts, and other roles across teams and products
• Provide feedback and mentorship to other engineers through code review, working sessions, design reviews, and other means

Who You Are

• CS degree with 5+ years of experience or MSCS degree and 4+ years of experience, or equivalent market experience desirable
• Strong knowledge of at least one backend programming language, preferably Go or Scala
• Familiarity with various data storage technologies and implementations, such as MySQL, Redshift, ElasticSearch, and Redis
• Experience with distributed data processing and manipulation, like Kafka, Spark, and Presto
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
