Fair's software engineers develop the next-generation FinTech technologies that change how millions of users access mobility. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work on a specific project to Fair's needs with opportunities to switch projects as you and our business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to display qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Consumer team, you will work closely with the web and mobile engineers to build backend functionalities that power Fair’s consumer experience.

This role will report to the Director of Engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Brainstorm with product managers, designers and engineers to conceptualize and build new features
• Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems critical to Fair’s consumer experience
• Identify project risks and propose and build team consensus around project alternatives
• Own the delivery of high-quality results by applying engineering and QA best practices
• Assist our customer support team in triaging and resolving production issues.
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
• Mentor other engineers

Required Qualifications:

• You have a strong technical background, including 3+ years of professional experience with Python.
• Solid Python experience building APIs and backend systems using ORMs (e.g. SQLAlchemy) automated testing (unit, functional and integration tests) on a cloud platform (e.g. AWS)
• Enjoy doing thorough and educational code reviews and architectural reviews
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
