The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.
Advanced Technology Division's (ATD) Survivability Resiliency Office (SRO) is looking for a senior satellite system engineer for Aerospace's support to the design, development, launch, test, and enterprise integration of a joint national security space system. This program includes acquisition, production, operational and future capability enhancement efforts.
This position requires 100% in person work in either Chantilly, VA or El Segundo, CA
What You'll Be Doing
- Serve as an Aerospace space segment technical lead to a joint program office for systems engineering, integration and test (SEIT) for the acquisition of a spacecraft constellation of a national security space system
- Represent Aerospace in program meetings and technical forums such as technical interchanges, prime and supplier PMRs, delivery status meetings, Anomaly & Failure Review Boards, Engineering Review Boards
- Formulate and draft Aerospace risk positions and recommendations on issues and brief the customer and Aerospace Senior Management on high interest topics.
- Provide Aerospace-tailored mission assurance for a joint national security space system to include leading Aerospace Engineering Matrix technical support for modeling & simulation and laboratory analysis as required.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics or another technical discipline.
- 12+ years of increasingly more responsible engineering experience
- Experience designing, building, and testing spacecraft systems
- Experience leading technical teams to solve complex problems and identify analytical or testing verification processes
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as team leader/member
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SSBI/SCI and polygraph, which is issued by the US Government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Masters or PhD degree in engineering, physics, mathematics or another technical discipline
- Prior experience as a space segment or payload lead
- Prior experience in rendezvous proximity operations (RPO), collision avoidance, or formation flying satellite operations
- Experience leveraging Aerospace Engineering Matrix technical support teams to provide effective contributions
- Experience in industry designing, building, and testing advanced spacecraft systems
- Familiarity with US Government acquisition processes and National Security Space missions
