At GoodRx, we believe that all Americans should have access to convenient and affordable healthcare. As a nation, we spend about $3.5 trillion annually on our healthcare, but too many Americans struggle to get the care they need, and prices just keep rising. Our marketplaces for prescription medicines and telehealth have helped Americans save $25 billion since 2011. GoodRx is a public company; we're based in Santa Monica with additional offices around the country. We're a low-key and tight-knit group that likes to find new ways to fix big problems. If you share our belief that you can do well by doing good, let's talk.
We’re committed to growing and empowering a more inclusive community within our company and industry. That’s why we hire and cultivate diverse teams of the best and brightest from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We believe that true innovation happens when everyone has room at the table and the tools, resources, and opportunities to excel.
With that said, research shows that women and other underrepresented groups apply only if they meet 100% of the criteria. GoodRx is committed to leveling the playing field, and we encourage women, people of color, and those in the LGBTQ+ communities to apply for positions even if they don’t necessarily check every box outlined in the job description. Please still get in touch – we’d love to connect and see if you could be good for the role!
About the Role
GoodRx is looking for a software engineering generalist (polyglot developer) to join our Developer Enablement Team of software generalists to build solutions, libraries and tools that will enable our software development teams to increase velocity and quality. Our developer enablement team strives to continuously reduce the cognitive overhead that comes with learning, using, implementing and maintaining individual tools in every development team at each part of the software development lifecycle (build, test, deploy, monitor).
The Developer Enablement Team works closely with our build and deployment tools team, and our cloud infrastructure teams. The role requires having a practitioner’s level knowledge of our infrastructure tools, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD technologies, frontend, backend API and mobile development technologies.
The candidate must be able to demonstrate strong development experience in at least one of the following development languages (Swift, Kotlin, Typescript, GoLang, Python), and has built and deployed software systems that are robust, scalable and maintainable. While we are not expecting a candidate to possess mastery over all the development technologies we employ at GoodRx, we would like the candidate to be strong in one and can demonstrate the ability to apply fundamentals to other development languages and technologies.
- Build tools, libraries and solutions that integrate into our CI/CD pipeline for application testing and instrumentation.
- Collaborate with the Developer Enablement Team on approach and design.
- Support and teach our internal development community in using the tools.
Skills and Qualifications
- Deep understanding in one of our core development technologies (Typescript, GoLang, Python).
- Can demonstrate experience having built and delivered a scalable system in one or more of our core development technologies (Typescript, GoLang, Python).
- You are a technology generalist, ever curious and evolving with technology trends.
- You are a fast learner.
- You are self-motivated and can work autonomously.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related quantitative degree
