We're looking for a backend software engineer that understands ecommerce and can help us grow our suite of website personalization and email marketing solutions. From database level to core server solutions to client-side web technologies, we can guarantee that no two days will be alike. This is a fun, multi-faceted job where people who see things differently are rewarded and everyone is able to make a big impact on the future of the company.

How you will contribute:

You will be focused on the development, support, and growth of our ecommerce platform and analytics. The environment empowers responsible, autonomous developers to use the right technologies to solve the right problems.

Upsellit hosts its own Ubuntu servers. We use Nginx, Tomcat8, Java, and MySQL.

Skills you'll bring:

• 7+ years experience building in a Java environment
• Experience in database tuning and optimization
• Experience with ANT or similar build scripts
• Experience with IntelliJ IDE
• Mastery of object oriented design, design patterns, data structures and multi-threaded algorithms
• Experience in client side technologies such as JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery and web-based debug tools
• Experience with web and application servers

Why you're important to us:

This role will impact our organization by helping our development team scale their infrastructure, automate and streamline our operations and processes, and develop new products and features. You will be a resource for the front-end campaign development team and help with client integrations and difficult situations.

In 90 days you will:

Help build and deploy automation tools as well as scale our infrastructure. You should prepare to have an immediate impact on the organization from day one. You'll take this far beyond your first 90 days. Expect to constantly be learning, challenging yourself and strategizing with your team on defining solutions within our platform.

UpSellit has one simple mission: to help advertisers improve their online shopping experience. We do this by giving ecommerce marketing departments everything they need to quickly deploy, test, and monitor one-to-one online marketing experiences.

We're looking for:

Self-starters who need very little oversight, that are able to understand what needs to be done, and figure out the best way to do it. Micromanaging is not our forte.
