We are currently looking to hire a remote Senior Devops Engineer. This is a great opportunity to learn and help build a brand new platform from the ground up, utilizing modern technologies, efficient processes, and best practices. As a member of an all-star platform group, you’ll work alongside 7 other Platform engineers and Platform architects to build and maintain new infrastructure as well as provide service to the rest of the engineering organization. You’ll report up to the Platform team’s director of engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Maintain Platform
    • Suggest enhancements to continuously improve our infrastructure
    • Conduct new technology research, proof of concept, and design work that will provide direction for the enhancement of the overall system and products
    • Adhere to software engineering best practices for performance, cost, security, usability, and maintainability
    • Demonstrate ownership of projects from development and testing through production
  • Provide Support to the Engineering Organization
    • Optimize the supportability of systems through automation and applying basic SRE principles such as blameless post-mortem, error budget, and automation
    • Take full ownership for assigned platform issues and drive the incident management process by performing issue triage, quickly identifying appropriate teams to be involved and escalating as per escalation plan.
    • Identify and propose/implement issue workarounds (e.g. for high priority issues) when appropriate
    • Provide in depth root cause analysis, document with sufficient detail with the aim to prevent recurrence


Requirements

  • 5+ years of devops experience working with AWS
  • 1+ years of relevant leadership experience
  • Skills to implement optimal infrastructure from a performance, cost, security, usability, and maintainability point of view
  • Strong skill set in AWS, observability and containers
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) systems
  • Must have production support experience
  • Ability to do quick POC to benchmark and prove viability of one or another solution
  • Communication skills with all levels and teamwork spirit are essential
  • Proactive with strong analytical, abstraction and organization skills

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Python, Go and/or Ruby
