Position overview:

We're looking for a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer who lives and breathes AWS, be a key member of our team and help us deliver the best customer experience possible. This role will work closely with the Engineering team focused on designing and building our next generation digital infrastructure and supporting customer facing web applications, data platform and other internal systems. You will get a chance to be hands-on with a variety of technologies and your work will have a real impact on the direction and quality of our services. The Senior Cloud Operations Engineer will report to the CTO.

 What You’ll Do 

• Help design, build and maintain cloud infrastructure
• Responsible for the ongoing maintenance, security, and availability of our cloud applications
• Monitor, track, and record system performance and utilization metrics
• Standardize, automate and document setup of all environments, development through production
• Automate manual tasks and ensure all resulting code is under source control
• Instrument monitoring solutions to gain insight into application performance and understand emerging issues
• Build a fault-tolerant and highly available system
• Help evolve our existing Build a CI/CD pipeline

What You Have 

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, including routing, subnetting, and load balancing
• 4+ years of production experience with AWS
• 1-3 years of experience in software development and/or engineering roles
• Understanding of AWS security best practices
• Experience with Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes and other related technologies
• Proficiency with CI/CD systems such as Circle CI, Travis CI, Jenkins, etc.
• Excellent problem resolution and troubleshooting skills
• Strong skills in interpersonal, verbal, and written communication 
• Passion to automate manual tasks

Bonus Points 

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related degree
• AWS Certifications: SysOps Administrator Associate, DevOps Engineer Professional or Advanced Networking are preferred, but similar certifications on other cloud providers are a bonus as well.
