We are looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join the ProducePay Platform team. ProducePay is growing rapidly, and as we create additional products and services we have found that we need a platform team to help develop and work on the services shared across ProducePay. You will be working on organization wide services (e.g. auth/accounts) that are consumed by our product teams as they build out their products. As an engineer on the Platform team, you will be collaborating with other product teams to understand their requirements as you build out shared services.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work with other engineers and product managers to build out services within ProducePay
• Take ownership of technical direction, design, and architecture for new features within our platform.
• Work across a variety of different codebases as you understand the requirements of other teams and help develop services, tooling, and infrastructure that they can use
• Mentor and guide other engineers using your awesome knowledge and experience. Whether through code reviews or pair programming, we want to learn from you.
• Continue to grow your skill set and knowledge. We are committed to investing in ourselves and our team.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with building web applications. You’ve seen some stuff, and whether it’s good, bad, or ugly it continues to inform the decisions you make on the software you build.

• Our stack includes React, Rails, GraphQL, Elixir, Phoenix, and Postgres. We’re looking for team members excited to work with these technologies.
• Comfort with switching between programming languages, picking up new languages, and adapting your coding appropriately

• Experience shipping production-quality software for 5+ years.
• Experience working with agile software development processes.
