About the Role
As a member of our backend engineering team, you will work on wide array of technologies and frameworks, including Java Spring Boot, Docker, AWS (primarily IAM, ECS, RDS, SQS, SES, S3 and the likes), SonarQube, SumoLogic, Terraform in a collaborating and fast-paced environment.
As a backend engineer, we expect you to work alongside product management, research, design, and engineering to define and build the essential lovable product. As a technologist, you will collaborate with your team members to architect, design, implement, and ship the final product.

- Play a key role in mapping the expanding needs of the business into innovative technical solutions within a highly scalable and event-driven architecture
- Tackle projects and problems of significantly larger scope
- Coordinate and communicate seamlessly across other technical and product teams
- Possesses a high degree of technical competency to design and develop digital applications using cutting-edge tools and technologies
- Promote a culture of operational excellence by meticulously testing and monitoring our systems and code, writing documentation, and being on-call to support the health of our services (and our patients).
- Uphold a culture of collaboration, transparency, creativity, inclusion, and data-driven decisions
What You'll Bring
- Developer with strong analytical and technical ability with over 5 to 8 years of experience in Java programming in addition to 3-4 years of software design and development using Java Spring Boot framework.
- Experience working on our technology stack (Java [JEE], Spring Boot, Spring Data[JPA], MySQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, Docker, JUnit, REST, Swagger) and proven track record of releasing enterprise applications into production using this tech stack.
- Experience working with AWS, AWS CLI and SDK, deploying applications on ECS (Fargate), RDS, working with S3, SQS, Lambda etc.
- Experience in troubleshooting production issues, parse, decipher, and correlate application logs (SumoLogic, CloudWatch) and identify patterns that could potentially cause bugs and issues.
Nice to have- Worked with credit card processing and payment gateway APIs
- Experience with HIPAA, PCI, or other high-security coding environments
- Experience with automatic building/deployment services like AWS Code Pipeline, Jenkins.
