About the TeamWe are the Inventory Management team. With responsibility over building and supporting various applications and services including Store Inventory Management, Transfers, Receiving, Allocations, Routing, Sales & Return, Shipment, and Inventory Control, we are a significant part of Nordstrom customer experience. We build out new features and experiences on the Java, AWS, and Oracle technology stack in an agile, team-oriented, and collaborative environment. We encourage innovation and expect developers to take a high level of ownership throughout the software life cycle. We are looking for a skilled individual to provide valuable technical expertise to our Android Apps and production support for our systems. When you join our team, you are part of the team that manages inventory management and movement decisions to support our business in multi-market and multi-channels with a continuous aim to improve and optimize the end user experience. You excel at taking a feature from scoping requirements to design, coding, and actual launch of the project and App. You have a strong desire to automate everything. You will develop and implement new features as well as maintain and enhance existing features.
You Will
Design, build and maintain Android apps and SDKs in Kotlin
Develop Android Store applications for a variety of Inventory related Unit Management & Operations
Work with engineers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders across the company to bring new features and products to Nordstrom's mobile users
Collaborate with Android developers who work on the same platform to set best practices for Android development across the Org
Work with user research and product design to understand users and address their needs
You May Be a Good Fit For This Role If You
Have a strong technical background, with 5+ years of experience in Android development. Ideally, you've had some experience building SDK products or contributing to open-source libraries, and appreciate the art of API design
You are proficient with an object-oriented language like Java, Kotlin, or C#.
Experience in developing mobile software applications (side-projects included) preferred.
Listen well and internalize the best ideas from all over the organization while also setting a vision that others are excited to get behind
Prefer simple solutions and designs over complex ones, and have a good intuition for what is lasting and scalable
Thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts
Can put yourself in the shoes of your users and be a steward of crafting great developer and consumer experiences

Colorado: $131,000-$203,000 annually, Nevada: $131,000-$203,000 annually
