The selected applicant will support the Aerospace lead in developing and delivering space control capabilities to guarantee space superiority for our nation. This position is focused on supporting all aspects of executing programs within the tightly integrated program office consisting of military, Aerospace, and SETA personnel. The work location is embedded within the government program office, so there is frequent interaction with the government and support contractors. This Aerospace role will also interface with National Security Space mission partners including other US Space Force organizations, Air Force organizations including research laboratories, other military Services, the Intelligence Community, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs), University Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs), and with contractors that are building and integrating capabilities.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Contribute to requirements development, capability evaluation, and implementation of solutions for challenging problems across a diverse set of capabilities.
  • Work with subject matter experts from the Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) to support system development
  • Develop, evaluate, and implement concepts, solutions, and Tactics, Techniques and Procedures for addressing challenging problems across a diverse set of capabilities
  • Develop Courses of Action to inform decisions related to executability and inform customers and management of activities
  • Provide system engineering support. This includes technical oversight and insight of multiple prime contractors, working with the Enterprise community
  • Collaborate and help technical teams to ensure that program office and ETG staff are effectively teamed to work closely with AF customer, contractors, SETA personnel, other FFRDCs, and UARCs. Strong emphasis will be placed on delivering high quality technical products in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated creation of sound, lasting working relations with customer senior management and all levels of customer/contractor staff

This position is available as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or related technical discipline
  • 8 or more years of relevant technical experience that includes systems engineering experience for the Project Engineer position
  • Current Top Secret/SCI clearance required, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
  • Ability to obtain additional security accesses
  • Experience working internal and external organizations such as customer, Aerospace, and contractors
  • Experience in space systems development
  • Demonstrated systems engineering experience
  • Ability to support a moderate amount of travel

What You Need to be Successful - Senior Project Engineer

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or related technical discipline
  • 12 or more years of relevant technical experience that includes systems engineering experience for the Senior Project Engineer position
  • Current Top Secret/SCI clearance required, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
  • Ability to obtain additional security accesses
  • Experience building and maintaining effective teams and develop good working interpersonal relations with internal and external organizations such as customer, Aerospace, and contractors
  • Experience in space systems development
  • Demonstrated systems engineering experience
  • Demonstrated ability to implement effort objectives in rapid timelines (months to year)
  • Ability to support a moderate amount of travel
