PTES Software Lead

Protected Antijam Tactical SATCOM (PATS) is a family of programs that will provide secure SATCOM services to tactical users. The Protected Tactical Waveform (PTW) has been developed as an enabling technology for these tactical SATCOM systems. The Protected Tactical Enterprise Service (PTES) program awarded a contract to Boeing to provide ground elements that will enable an operational PTW capability via WGS. PTES is being executed under Section 804 authorities as the first rapid prototyping program at SMC applying Agile project management in collaboration with the contractor. The PTES Software Lead is responsible for leading Aerospace software efforts in the program office and ETG to achieve PTES mission success by collaborating with the PTES USSF team and the contractor team. We are looking for an innovative software professional with the right combination of technical and leadership skills to champion innovation on this fast moving and high-profile program.
Key Functions
Support Government and Contractor Agile ceremonies and activities
Reports activities, progress and achievements through written and oral reports to management, subordinates, and customers
Participates in day-to-day technical task planning and issue resolution; coordinates work activities with counterpart peer organizations
Identifies, selects and assigns engineering personnel, monitors quality of work outputs; resolves significant technical problems
Identifies program risks and recommends mitigation plans
Proposes and leads Aerospace prototyping, evaluation, and risk reduction activities as needed to address program needs
Coordinates PTES integration & test and Digital Engineering across PATS enterprise
This position is available as an Aerospace Corporation Project Leader or Senior Project Leader
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics or an appropriate technical discipline
Minimum of 8 years of engineering/scientific experience
Demonstrated leadership, team building, and the ability to foster effective relationships with government customers and their contractors
Demonstrated objectivity, and sound judgement
Experience in software life cycle management and system engineering
Experience in applying Agile software development
Ability to work in high intensity, fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and demanding customer
Excellent interpersonal skills and outstanding oral / written communication skills
Current Secret Clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
Required for Senior Project Leader
Minimum of 12 years of engineering/scientific experience
Broad understanding and demonstrated experience across a range of disciples for ground systems engineering, design, integration and test
Experience in successfully leading product teams, including task assignments and managing resources
Preferred
Advanced degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or an appropriate technical discipline
Agile program management experience
Knowledge of military SATCOM missions, system designs, and operations
Knowledgeable in tools and processes to set up CI/CD pipeline and DevSecOps
Knowledgeable with MBSE and Digital Engineering ecosystem
Knowledge of cyber and crypto engineering on ground systems
Experience with Aerospace mission assurance processes and tools
Demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve high-impact technical issues
Working knowledge of Aerospace Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) skills and capabilities
Current TS/SCI, SSBI, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
